As I mentioned before, I'm deleting email from Spectrum RoadRunner, and I can delete only 100 at a time, and it can take up to a minute to delete a page. When it freezes, I have to reload the program. Sometimes, I'm not able to sign in to the account. All that email goes to my Gmail account, so I can still read it.

If your using Outlook, you could create another PST, make it your primary and not worry about the other, or archive,delete or just take it off-line.
