Weather nice, about 85 and going up here in the valley.
Nikon D4 paired with 200-500 5.6 usually set at 6.3 or 7.1 for the sweet spot for focus.
1/2500
Auto white balance

Nice work Jules! Your 200-500 gives you some near and far 'quick' options without switching bodies like I have to do since I use a 400mm prime (or 560mm with 1.4x TC) on my 1st body and a 70-200mm on my 2nd body!
I like the celebration shot, those are always great sellers and the other pictures are perfectly timed from you keen eagle vision eyes. The colors, sharpness, the grittiness of the pictures are perfect, can't achieve that raw grittiness on astroturf right!

Rick

So true love the real grass and dirt. That's how the game is supposed to be played on. When you slide, kicking up the dirt, getting it in your eyes, mouth, filthy uniforms. Oh how I miss those days when I played.
Question for you Rick?
How do you feel about your Tc 1.4 what about softness? When you get time fill me and others here on what you think and why.
Thanks,
Jules

Jules I think the Canon TC 1.4x III is a little soft at times from my quickie file compares I occasionally do, see the attached 3 files. The pitcher photo with the glove in front of the face (a favorite of mine) is at 560mm, the pitcher (same pitcher) with the windup is at 400mm and pretty much all other camera settings are the same. The first attached photo is a low-res side by side comparison but this was one of those days where heat waves were coming off the astro-turf and the only lens combination that was affected by it was the 400mm + tc 1.4x iii. All my other combinations like 300mm, 400mm, and 70-200mm didn't get bothered with the invisible heat waves coming off the turf.

Like this set, Jules. My favorite is of the catcher handling the wild pitch. Love the sharpness as evidenced by the ball!

Did you get a chance to try the centerfield location?

No Rick. No holes in the fence. If I were younger with my old truck I would have brought a ladder.
