I just realized the humor behind the term "Waiting Room" at a doctor's office. Yes, WAITING!

I go tomorrow for one of those "follow-up" visits. Five minutes with the doctor and half the day in the "Waiting Room."

I reversed billing when I was made to wait almost 3 hrs. That was 20 yrs ago, today...I wait 5 minutes, every time I go... same doc.

I have waited over 30 mins.once then I got and left, I got a call within ten mins asking what was wrong. I told the caller I thought he doctor had died and could.t wait for his replacement.
Went back the next day, five mins. I was in!!
Now the E/R is another story!!

I once had to wait in the waiting room and then in the exam room. After waiting about an hour and a half, I left. They called a few weeks later and rescheduled.

The ER is out of the question now. We have Urgent Care, and that's faster and cheaper. I once cut my thumb, and I went to the ER the following day. A nurse washed it, bandaged it, and gave me two tetanus shots. I later got a bill for $3,600. I eventually got it down to my $75 co-pay.

I would have think my thumb was going to fall of before I go to the U/C or ER.
I wash it and clean it and bandage it myself!!
When I was working the only reason I went to the UC was because it was a company rule!!!

When it was still bleeding the next day, I figured I needed professional help. They have magic bandages at the hospital. All I have are BandAids.
