I wonder if it's an albino? Definitely a great job given the conditions.
Thanks, Erv. I was at f11 and ISO 200. I'm ok with the DOF as is. Not trying to get it all in focus. No idea on bug. Looked like a beetle. Definitely not a flea.
Taken with my 105mm micro Nikon.
There are teeny tiny bugs on the petals. I'm thinking I'm going to see if I can get even closer to capture those bugs with the camera.

Do I ver agree. And not a peep from him since he made the comment. Hope he's embarrassed!
If you are referring to me, I did reply back on page 3 and also added 3 of my images. And, I am not embarrassed.
I like the "hand of man" in the first pic. I do agree there is a bit too much sky. However, I bet an alternative energy company would love this pic as it really promotes a green and clean energy image.
Really enjoying the field of lupines. Nice job on both.

Come on DJ , we are here to help each other out, but not do the job for you , why not take your own pictures
This was exactly my point. Compensation doesn't have to be in the form of payment. Even as simple as our names in the book. We put in the work to get the pictures, we deserve the credit.
And, for those who said that the person could just come in and download any pics, you are correct. But since OP asked, there should be some recognition as to who provided the pics. Kind of works both ways, right?
And a few to share.
Was that, Peter Cottontail? Cool looking eggs.
I've had really good luck buying online. I got my D40, way back when, from Cameta Camera. They sell through Amazon and it was a really good deal at the time.
I think my D300 came from Adorama, but I don't recall for sure. So many online purchases, all from reputable places, they all run together.
Just remember the old adage...if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
Be a savvy shopper and double check reviews of the online retailers you are thinking of using.

That's funny...I'm FROM California....San Diego specifically....the LAND of beach sunsets.... :)
And mountain sunrises. :)
Are you going to give credit to each photographer who submits an image for you to use? Or will there be some sort of compensation? What is the motivation for providing pictures to you?
A few from our local mountains.

Great pano, especially for first attempt. How many images did you stitch?

It's hard to photograph the sunrise here where I live...there are no amazing beaches for the sun to come up over...there are more hills here than Deer!...there just isn't a flat place in the whole state!
So it's really hard to figure out how to get a good sunrise...
Very nice photo. I think that at times we may all be envious of where other people live for the photo opportunities that are present, beaches, mountains and the like. I think that one of the benefits of this site is to challenge each of us to see what is available to us and make the most of it.

I agree with Jimber.
Also...
Don't apologize for where you live. Instead go out and show us what is beautiful and unique about where you live. Water and a flat horizon aren't the only type of sunrise picture. They are just ingredients in one type of sunrise picture. Maybe you have hills and cool looking clouds that reflect the rising sun's light or filter it in such a way that you get rays of light streaming through the clouds.
I agree that Nik makes a great HDR product. I also agree that this one is overcooked. You can easily edit your original so it isn't so flat looking. If you will allow me, I'd like to play with the original and post my edits.
