I have used B & H photo out of New York. They have been around for years and have a very good reputation as far as I know. Like any business there are good and the jerks - never hurts to ask and check around about any in particular.

Hello Gavin,
I purchase almost everything online, mostly B&H. Cameras, ink, paper, monitor, voice recorder, lots of stuff. NEVER a problem with them. Only 1 return ever, and they handled it superbly! There are other good ones, but B&H has me hooked!

I purchased two film bodies, a grip and one lens online. I've also gotten film (two 100' rolls), film canisters and a bulk loader (actually three). I've never had any problems - the overall experience was not much different than purchasing something mail-order over the phone or through a catalog.

I think the important thing is to do your research on both the product and the seller.

I've used B&H and Adorama. Both excellent.

I had film canisters backordered at Adorama once, so I went with B&H because I needed them in a hurry. Adorama had no problem canceling that part of the order and tossed in an additional $15 store credit for the inconvenience.

only deal with well known companieslike adorama, b=h, Keh for used, abes of maine, ritz, calumet o sammy's. all have brick and mortar building locationsand not just a warehouse and a website. there are alot of scamers out there. go to resellerratings.com to ss what past the business has. i recomend strongly both keh and adorama, havingdone business with both

I've had really good luck buying online. I got my D40, way back when, from Cameta Camera. They sell through Amazon and it was a really good deal at the time.
I think my D300 came from Adorama, but I don't recall for sure. So many online purchases, all from reputable places, they all run together.
Just remember the old adage...if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
Be a savvy shopper and double check reviews of the online retailers you are thinking of using.

Before you buy from any online business, you should go to Reseller ratings .com. They have reviews for all of the various merchants. It is a very good resource.

if you find a price that looks toogood to be true, IT USUALLY IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
