You might like to see two 18th century cottages in the village I live in. I could not get closer as they are walled and gated but both are occupied.
Why extraordinary?Surely anything that is eye catching and colorful is a fitting subject for a photograph. It does not have to be ducks or babies. If I see something that might look good I shoot it.Most times it is not worth bothering about but now and then it is.
I don't think this is HDR but I don't know enough about it. Can you explain, please?
This is the organ in our church. I thought it made a nice splash of color.
Shows it's the photographer and not the camera
To the average amateur,Photoshop contains far more than they will ever use. Other programmes, much cheaper, such as Corel or Serif PhotoPlus X5 will do most of what Photoshop does and Serif is very user friendly. Or if you really want the lot what abour Gimp?
Shouldn't be a problem but never take pictures of children withoput parental consent.

Nice picture. You were lucky to have a sunny day. Thanks for sharing.
It was lucky.Edinburgh is not knopwn for its sun
I now find I can get a used SB400 for about the same money. Looks a better bet.
Thanks for all advice.I don't know too much about flash. It seemed to me thet the inbuilt flash in my D3100 was not good enough under certain situations but I don't use flsh often enough to pay a lot for one.
I was driving along in Edinburgh, which is a beautiful city when my eye caught this and I took a quick shot.
Anyone had any dealings with the Yonguno YN560 external flash gun? It's certainly a great deal cheaper than anything else I've seen but do you get what you pay for?
Found out how todo it.Should have read the manual
It stretches a long way. It can be nasty in the north but quite benign where I live
Took my new Nikon D3100 for a drive in the Kentish countryside. For friends across the pond who do not know English geography, Kent is in the SE of England and is known as The Garden of England. We grow a lot of fruit.
Thought you might like to see a couple of shots.
I am very happy for criticism.I am new to DSLR having been dragged kicking and screaming from film and I know they are not up to the standard of much of what I see on this forum.
