A very fine set of photos! They had 322 inches of snow in San Diego?

"Everyone" does not have one, at least a "smart phone". I have a flip phone and can barely use it to make calls, let alone take pictures.
Texas is big. It's almost 1000 miles (1600 km) east-to-west and about the same north-to-south. Folks visiting from the EU or the UK have no idea just how big this is. You'll need to concentrate on a few major destinations, I think. (When I first came here in 1980 rural folks would talk about how many six-packs it took to drive to their neighbors.) The big cities are pretty "Liberal" (by Texas standards) but the rest of the state is fairly conservative. You'll like the people here.

In my life I have lived in Ohio, Boston, Jamaica, The Netherlands, Germany and Texas. And I have to say the most foreign place I've ever been to is Texas. Yes there are many wonderful people in Texas but I learned to never turn your back on them.
Well, I have lived in Michigan, Oregon, Labrador, California, Iran, South Carolina, Illinois, Germany, and Texas. I like it here.
Don't listen to him.

Go to New Mexico instead. Texan politics are just plain scary.
I see you are in Massachusetts. That explains a lot.
Fascinating! Loved the gnarled tree.
That's a pretty definitive negative command. Just what is it based on? Texans are very friendly folk. They accepted me 42 years ago and I was a died-in-the-wool Northerner.
Well, I think any visit of an outsider to Texas should definitely include San Antonio and the Alamo, since it is such an important part of Texas's history. And the Riverwalk there is a great place to visit. I've been to San Antonio 3 times, here are some photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/collections/72157626267298096/
I've not explored western Texas much, but did visit the CAF Airpower Museum in Midland, Texas. It has a nice display of old airplanes. https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157632953912284/
If you like air museums, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison, Texas (outside Dallas) is worth a visit. https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157632949358897/
If you are classical music fans, two of the best concert halls are found in Dallas (the Meyerson) and Fort Worth (the Bass).
Texas abounds with excellent venues, and I'll let others fill more of those in for you.
I live in Dallas and would enjoy meeting you. Maybe we could arrange a lunch?

The accolades are well deserved. Your photos are exceptional.

One of my coworkers had a sign "You cannot lift a real computer". We worked on IBM mainframes.
I have 4 indoor cats right now. I sleep in a lounge chair and when I wake up there will be up to 3 of them lying on me. Never have all 4, because 2 of them don't get along very well -- no fights, just avoidance.
One of them will just stop somewhere and yowl, with no obvious reason for it. Then she'll come and lie in my lap. My boy cat has only one good eye, but gets around just fine. I have a fold-down shelf at the "throne" and he likes to jump up there when I'm occupied.
Very nice! I would not want to be punctured by an Oryx.
