The people of Kenya really touch my heart. It is odd as I am so not a people photographer. However, these colorful happy people make me want to take photos of them. The sound and tone of their voices when they sing is really magical. I don't even sound like myself to me, but the sounds and sights in the villages just resonates with me. I can not do justice with photos. I'm trying to learn, Piper the lady I go with, she can capture their soul.
This is right outside of his village. This is what they wear on a daily basis.

Their bead work is beautiful.

These feet have walked many dusty miles. Could you walk a mile in his shoes? I don't mean literally, but live his life?

Do you see the circles on his cheeks? This is something only the Amboseli Maasai do. It is done when they are babies, or very young.

They had roasted a goat. When we go a gift is given to the tribe. So tourists do help these tribes.

The feather head decoration is not something that would be worn on a daily basis.

It was a festive atmosphere as the men enjoyed the goat.

We were offered bits of the goat and it was good. Being polite they offered more, we did not accept, not because it was not good, but it was much more important to them.

The beadwork is fantastic. What are their sandals made of?
Outstanding. They live a much simpler life than we do. Not an easier life; just more simple.
Well done - story and images
These are great photographs of the people of the area. You have not only captured them but their lifestyle as well. Nice job.

Yes and they really are happy. Of course with the drought they are worried about the cows and things like that. With the cell phone and more access to the outside world they see what we have and it is changing them and what they want…
Good evening. Your photos of these tribesmen do justice to their way of life. The colors and textures of their dress your photos have captured very well. I like the straight photography you practice. It brings out the subject to my eye as if there myself.

I really tried, thank you!
I think you did a great job with these, people photographer or not. I feel as if I know the people a little bit through your photos.

This a fine set-makes me think of actually being there. Thanx for sharing!
