Earlier this year I saw an article with pictures of the Packard Motor plant that used to be one of the biggest in the world - it is where my folks met during WW II, building Merlin engines - just a shell with a few old machines rusting away. It said they were trying to decide what to do with it - that shell was built like many things back then - to last - so it could be gutted and rebuilt inside into something. But the city has no money, can't attract any businesses to take it over etc. etc. - so it just sits.

I sent you a PM. My dad worked at the Willow Run aircraft plant building B-24 bombers during WWII, later ran a gas station/garage on 7 Mile Rd, and was a Milkman for Wilson Dairy.
