All guesses welcome. I doubt anyone will know, but... what the heck!

These look like tiny crystals of ginger or
Frankincense.

Citrine is closer than Fluorite.

I have one last guess. Is is myrrh? I have never seen frankincense or myrrh. Supposedly they look similar to each other.

I bombed with this one, but you deserve to know.

The crystals are amber sap from the common Mesquite tree in AZ.
This otherwise shabby plant is graced with these beautiful oozings
every Spring.

Native peoples have long used the sap as an antiseptic for
wounds and rashes. Boiled in water, then applied to wounds/infections.

These crystals are scattered on a fairly large sample of turquoise and
quartz.

As I said earlier, I have never seen frankincense or myrrh. Supposedly, the look similar and somewhat like ginger crystals.
As for Mesquite sap crystals, ya got me. I’m going to look around my house and hope to find something to stump you.

By the way, what Nation prides themselves on their use? Is it the Hopi?

AZ has 25 tribes. Tohono O'Odham is the largest number. Next are Navajo. It is the most interesting state in the U.S. The geology is second only to Utah in variety, for example. A photographer's dream. Hummers, butterflies, exotic plants, tropical species unique to the state in general. Crater National Park, Petrified Nat'l Forest, Chiricahua National Monument, Tombstone, etc. etc. We have gone down for winters 13 of the last 14 years. Can't get enough of it.

At least the cat is not like my dog who eats the plastic butter pats. Can you imagine taking the dog to the vet and trying to explain this. Worst of all, the little beast ate 9 of these little butter cups.

Thanks for enlightening me. I only know of the Hopi. I can see spending a great deal of time in Monochrome and buying some infrared film for effect. I definitely would like to spend time at Taliesin in Scottsdale.
