As of two days ago, the official Nikon site did not have the manual for the d 7200 available. Thanks for the shout out. I will look it up. It is too bad about the group AF. In that case for me there is not sufficient upgrade to focusing system on d 7200 to justify switch. Because I could simply take more out of focus birds with the increased buffer of the d 7200 than my current d 7100.

Let us know if it has Group Area AF like the D4s.

I have written Nikon and asked a specific question on the D 7200. I wanted to know if it offered Group Area auto focus. The D4s has this feature and it is specifically for photographing fast moving subjects. Nikon has lagged behind Canon on this specific area and the Group Area auto focus works very well on the D4s. If the 7200 has it and you like wildlife photography, then buy it. If it does not have this feature the differences between the 7100 and 7200 for the average photographer is minimal.

Do me a favor before you buy either type of lens. Do some homework and find out what both sell for used. You will find that Nikon lenses sell for more money than after market lenses, last longer, need fewer repairs, work longer better. It is like someone said years ago, so get what you pay for. Or, pay me now or pay me later. Or better yet, buy a Nikon lens used in mint condition and get it for less than that after market lenses.

My gun site is already on my lens. I shoot with a 600 f4 Minolta lens on my Sony A77 II. You can carry the lens by the rubberized tripod mount or, you can carry it by a top handle. This top handle is formed in a U shape. The U faces the photographer. I have discovered that if you look down the U from the camera position you will be looking at exactly what you are looking at through the lens. Recently at a bird park I was going between nesting Great Blue Herons and Anhinga's. I would use the U to quickly go from one nest to the next and then confirm by looking through the lens. I found this to work well for me. The lens is attached to a Wimberley WH-200 head Version II. The only catch is I should have taken up weight lifting before a got the 600.

Sony makes a small case that has a belt loop built in, I can carry the M2, charger cord, and extra memory cards and extra battery. This case is very small and compact. I walk around, see a shot, remove the camera, take the shot, back in the belt case, walk on. Could not be easier, B&H and Amazon has them for about $10.00. And, the case says SONY on it, how cool is that.

Yes, it appears only two of the photographers with the black lenses are professionals. The rest are hired models with plastic white lenses so their arms will not tire though out the photo shoot.

When I did funeral photography I waited until the wake/dinner/get together and photographed family groups. I asked the surviving family spouse/relative what groups they wanted (ahead of time) and suggested they appoint a family member to assemble the groups the surviving spouse wanted. Respect the families requests, act with respect of folks feelings and you will be fine.

I own the Sony SonyLZ100 M2 and it has one of the sharpest lenses. I do not know if the M3 has a built in flash. Mine can be tilted back so you can bounce it off the ceiling for very nice lighting. Mine also does fill flash outside with professional results. I have never traded up because I like the M2 so much. It is all metal construction and the weight feels great in your hands. It is an ideal carry always camera because it can do so many things well. No long reach telephoto in the zoom but otherwise an all nice piece. Check to see if the M3 has the built in flash that you can tilt back with your thumb.

Just remolded a foreclosed property in Florida. Took four months and the wife could not be happier. I saved tons doing the work myself. Yes, I have many photo toys, but my wife never minds as long as I make ends meet. PS She loves our new 5 month home in Florida.

If you want an excellent 400, buy the canon new 400mm f4, a deal at 6500, then buy the D7 II and have some fun. If one manufacture does not make what you want, someone else will. So buy this lens and camera body, it will be less than buying from Nikon.

It all goes back to the same old adage. The quality of the photograph has almost nothing to do with the camera. It has to do with the photographers experience, training, and eye.

Yes, all those things you mentioned about the new Nikon 300 f4 is correct but you left out the most important difference. The new Nikon 300 f4 is half the weight of the older version 300mm f4. And this is a big deal for me because I carry the 300 f4 on a rapid strap over my shoulder and a 600 f4 on a tripod. If you shoulder carry the 300 f4 all day you will want to consider the replacement. Considering the R and R that went into the new 300 f4 the cost is not excessive.

Lets see, water and sand, about one use. Dropping lens from 10 stories up, about one drop. Stepping on lens with combat boots, one stomp. Scuba diving without camera housing, one dive. Leaving lens on table in food court, about 10 minutes, or less depending on how many people in food court and time of day. I hope this helps.
