When I was out getting some shots of boats yesterday, a runner approached, and seeing my camera asked if I'd gotten some shots of the Night Heron around the corner that was "in fairly close." A swimming Night Heron? NOT! My guess was that she was referring to this elegant bird. The midday light was a bit extreme, but I took a chance with the shots anyway.

Very nice Vicki.

Hoya. Independent test from Lenstip (best of memory) confirms it to be better than B+W even if the latter is chosen by most photographers (I would like to see some data to support such a claim) as one poster asserts. Go here: http://www.lenstip.com/113.1-article-UV_filters_test.html

I have seen the same tests. I've used both and prefer Hoya, especially the slim Pro line.

I am an Apple guy that has a D5. First, I HATE using a DNG converter. It's clunky and adds a couple of extra steps that take up valuable time. I've been using LR5.7 for some time now(it doesn't support my new camera). I stopped using Aperture when APPLE abandon it. Now I have a choice, I can pay ADOBE $10/month for ever (I don't use Photoshop and not very often PSE 14, is it really worth it?) or I can purchase LR6 for $80 (haven't heard very positive feedback), or I can move to a new program with similar capabilities as LR. Hopefully, not to be abandon. I would really like to find something similar to LR &/or Aperture. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Why not just use NX-D.
