When I was out getting some shots of boats yesterday, a runner approached, and seeing my camera asked if I'd gotten some shots of the Night Heron around the corner that was "in fairly close." A swimming Night Heron? NOT! My guess was that she was referring to this elegant bird. The midday light was a bit extreme, but I took a chance with the shots anyway.

I enjoyed these shots and liked the reflection.

Thank you Linda. This bird is strikingly beautiful with the black and white feathers contrasted with the red eyes and yellow-orange beak.
It spend a lot of time diving and swimming under water, resurfacing in a different place each time. It was hard to tell where it would reappear.

Super shots...even if it wasn't a swimming Night Heron ;-) Now that would've been beyond super!
