That snake is a southern or banded water - snake. If one looks carefully at the second shot you will see faint bands.

Well, no mis-snake about it, it is a snake alright!! Hope you slithered passed it after taking these shots!!
At one point we had 4 snakes in the house, 2 for each son!!
Not as big as this, but they are interesting pets!!

This is what comes of busting that alligator yesterday. Next thing, he calls his lawyer to get him sprung. From the stripes, this particular ambulance chaser appears to be a graduate of Harvard Law.

Nice shots of him, MT, but be careful or he'll sue you for taking and posting his picture without a signed release!

Although I enjoy your images of snakes and alligators, MT, I suggest you consider moving someplace where the largest species in nature is a butterfly.
