Hi All,
Hoping you can help me, I have had my D5100 for a few months used my 16GB card in it no problem, I came across another make of 16 GB card in my drawer, which had photo's on, it worked in computer fine, I deleted the photo's , formatted the drive to its defaults, BUT when I put that card in the camera, the Nikons says there's a fault or other such message, it wont even let me get into menu to format it for the D5100, which I did with the card I use everyday! I'm stumped, help please ! Graham Siamesecatmanuk
People seem to write off having a rescue cat and miss out themselves, glad your enjoying him,
I too have a couple of rescue cats among our pedigree Siamese.
As I have posted before I DID get the 55-200
and for the measly £82.50 p !!
I paid for a graded with Nikon warranty lens, nothing out there would beat it at the price. G
I got the 55-200 and the early results seem good,
time will tell if I miss the extra 100mm or not,
but it seems good for the £82.50 P I paid for a this graded lens with warranty !
I have only just taken delivery of the Nikon D5100 and have to say it's great.
re your trembling issue, I have bought off EBay for just a couple of pounds a mini transmitter to trigger the shutter on this camera, great for self shots and not shaking the camera when pressing the shutter ( no matter how carefully I try ) when on tripod or resting on a bean bag or similar setup.
the receivers build into the camera body ( front and back ) seem to work a treat.

Thanks for the praise of the photo, its life I suppose said the spider to the fly ! re the lens price stateside, its around £60 BUT its the customs, taxes and VAT that's unknown.the same lens retail here is £100 +

Hi everyone,
Firstly, thank you for all your help and comments re NIKON D5100 DSLR and then Battery for same and finally lens.
I have now got the NIKON and have to say although its early days I am loving this camera,
the battery life isn't as bad as I thought, but then I don't use live view a lot, but I am going to sort out a spare battery for bigger shoots.
However, I am still looking for a used NIKON 55-200 lens ( as the 70-300 is out of my reach ) I'm almost totally convinced I will go NIKON for the VR it offers, unless you know a lens (cheap) that would match it ?
Graham
Hi thanks for that, looks like I'd better get saving for the 55-300 if that's what everyone agree,s with ?
Graham
thank you for that I will have a look.
Graham
HIya,

Graham

Graham
Hi all.
Hope you can help and advise on this one ?
I am wondering if this lens, the Sigma 55-200mm f4-5.6 Telephoto Zoom lens, will be any good for my Nikon D5100 ? has anyone got one ,have you got any views on it please ? Graham
don't get us started on that subject ! ( smile ) we pay more for the camera in the first place over and above you pay Stateside.
