I just bought the Sony A7RII and some lens adaptors and love it. It is a might chaotic right now with all the bells and whistles, but that will smooth out in time. My BIG problem is that I can't download the 42 mb raw photo files and get them to appear in useable fashion in Lightroom. Even the latest version. I subscribe to the Creative Cloud copies of Photoshop and Lightroom for $9.99 or so a month, but am totally bummed by not being able to really see and process my images.

Does anyone out in HedgeHog land have a working solution? I want to get started and am spinning my wheels on this one. the file extension is .awr for the raw files.

Thanks for your help on this one. I even have the Geek squad at Best Buy scratching their heads.

I'll try to reply to several of your comments. I am not planning to choose either / or, but plan to use both bodies. I will never give up on Leica lenses on Leica bodies - they were made for each other for sure! But, I have several Leica lenses and see no sense in just keeping all but one on my main camera. Since I already have other Leica lenses, and want to see the how the Sony A7RII would work as a backup, I planned to use the lenses I already have invested in. Now the issue is which lens would be best on which camera body...

I have the same logic with my sig P220, i only have handguns that shoot 45cal. so I only have to buy one type of ammo.

Which Leica lenses would you put on the Sony and why? Choices are- 28mm f2.0, 50mm f2.0, and 90mm f2.0. I know, "It depends...", but let's toss the subject around and see what we come up with. Are some lenses better suited for one or the other? I usually have the 50mm on my Leica with the 28 in the bag as a back up. The 90mm comes out when I have a specific reason to use it. I am looking for suggestions and the reasoning behind the suggestions. I am an eclectic photographer - I shoot all kinds of subjects. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience and opinion!

I want to calibrate my individual lenses with my specific camera in order to achieve the best and tightest focus on my intended subjects.

I have a Leica M-P typ 240 and wonder if there is a non Leica source for calibration of camera body and lenses other than the manufacturer. I am looking for superior work with a reasonable turn around time. I am worried that Leica will take 3 to 6 months and I don't want it gone anywhere near that long. Any Hoggers with a great alternative source? I definitely do not want to do this myself - it is way out of my league. Thanks. I am not looking to discuss the pros and cons; I am looking for good alternatives. Hope you are all having a photographically great day.📸

I have a Leica M-P typ 240 with a sensor that is not spotlessly clean. Do you seasoned UHHers clean your own sensors or leave it to others? Is it safe to have an inexperienced amateur attempt the activity or is it fraught with known and unknown dangers? If you clean your sensors, what is the best way and best products to use? Is there a failsafe fallback option that is recommended? Thanks for wise and experienced responses. No theory, just experienced responses please.
