Wherefore art thou Lightroom for A7RII?

I just bought the Sony A7RII and some lens adaptors and love it. It is a might chaotic right now with all the bells and whistles, but that will smooth out in time. My BIG problem is that I can't download the 42 mb raw photo files and get them to appear in useable fashion in Lightroom. Even the latest version. I subscribe to the Creative Cloud copies of Photoshop and Lightroom for $9.99 or so a month, but am totally bummed by not being able to really see and process my images.

Does anyone out in HedgeHog land have a working solution? I want to get started and am spinning my wheels on this one. the file extension is .awr for the raw files.

Thanks for your help on this one. I even have the Geek squad at Best Buy scratching their heads.

I'm sure that others will chime in with more detail than I can provide. I am not familiar with that particular camera. BUT, first, be sure you have the latest camera raw file uploaded from Adobe. It apparently takes some finite amount of time for new cameras RAW file information to become available in lightroom or Photoshop.

I found this.

Your camera requires ACR 9.1.1 so a subscription version of Photoshop

I am able to import raw files from my Sony a7rii camera to Lightroom on iMac computer. Try reinstalling Lightroom on your computer.

Try Capture One Pro 9. It supports your Sony A7r mk2 and supports it being tethered also.

Capture One Pro 9.2.1 is $50 for Sony users.

With the A7R2 update the firmware, I think 3.1 is the latest. Uncompressed RAW is only 82 mb images.

It is a great camera, enjoy.

The version that comes with many Sony cameras is a lite version. I'm not sure if that will support the tethering ability. For sure it will support most post editing.
