Wow, do I feel dumb. Got this camera over the weekend and can't figure out how to transfer the images for processing. My other Nikons had a small port for the tranfer cable but not the 500. Manual didn't seem to help. Must I use wireless, or is that what the USB port is for. Does it require special cable? This will probably be the first in a series of cringe-inducing questions I ask. (Why did that idiot buy that camera is what you may be thinking.) Know I'm going to love it, but need help. Thanks.

Over a year ago I bought a refurbished Nikon D 3400 from a reputable place that’s often spoken about on uhh.
Took very good pictures I even bought a better lens than the stock lens.

But then I began noticing when I was looking at viewfinder the code R 11. And I could not get rid of it. I looked online and I even called Nikon and they told me it wasn’t anything to be concerned about that it was basically saying that the buffer was full. Something doesn’t make sense to me. I have several digital cameras that I use so it’s not like I was using this one excessively.
Can the buffer be emptied because I cannot get rid of that R11 code. It does hinder you from taking several photos in a row because the buffer is already full. She also suggested I could send it in but why would I pay something like that if there really wasn’t anything that they could do. She never said it could be reset. And if it could be reset why didn’t she tell me how. Is anyone familiar with this? Thank you

It seems that Amazon Returns have taken a turn for the worse.

I have four choices: bring it to UPS - a one hour round trip, bring it to a store in town - same distance, leave it at a UPS drop-off for $7.50, or have UPS pick it up for $13.50. It looks like they no longer send a label. UPS comes here at least once a week, so I would put the label on it and give it to the UPS driver.

EDIT: Looking again, there is an option to print a mailing label, but that just takes me to the address of the UPS store, with directions to bring it to the store.

Why is it that photographers are obsessed with obtaining so many lenses? I only have 3 lenses that serve me well. I have owned them now for about 8-10 years during which I have bought 4 new bodies. My lenses are the Canon 10-22mm efs, the 24-105mm L EF, and the 100-300mm EF. During the time i have owned these lenses I have owned the Canon XT, the 60d, 70d and now the 90d bodies. But I have never had a desire to buy new lenses. Why would I? My 24-105 is my general purpose lens. I use it for 75% or more of my shots. The 10-22 is for when I have to go wide and the 100-300 is for sports, wildlife and general telephoto needs. I cannot imagine needing anything else other than maybe a 50mm prime with a large aperture. I don’t have a camera bag big enough for anymore lenses.
