I think you would be best served by taking advantage of the trial period to see what you think and how well it works for you. There are many different opinions regarding LuminarAI but you be the judge.

If indeed there are one or two functions in Luminar Ai that you may use then at the least you can consider that the whole program is the price of one topaz plugin or 8 months of PS rental.

Affinity another "investment," it is a one-time $50 price and it allows free updates. Thus far, this excellent photo editor is not Ai, but will it be Affinity-Ai in the future? Well, will Ford Mustang be electric? OH! it already is... that is competition forcing change. Both Luminar Ai and Affinity are good investments for learning to stop the PS blackmail. Most of us use just basic tools to refine our photos... and PS is learning laborious and multi-step to achive what the magic wand of plugins [Topaz for me] and Ai do quickly.

I use it more than the other editing programs. It has a little learning curve, but once you get it, it is very intuitive and does 99% of what the expensive programs do.

I've been a Luminar user for years and really like the product. I recently upgraded the the the AI version which I love. Just one problem. When I use the erase tool it crashes the program. Skylum does not have live help and email communication with them is very slow. Their first recommendation did not solve the problem. Still waiting for more assistence

My erase tool works great but if it didn't I have a backup with the content aware tool in PSE.

I use it and love it. I am not really into the layer level of edit in photoshop and Luminar offers a much easier interface. You can do the trial and see if you like it.

There is no free trial period in the normal sense of the term. You have to purchase Luminar AI and if you are unhappy with your purchase you have 30 days to ask for a refund. Personally, I would never trial any software that way. Most of their competition offers 15 to 30 day free trials of fully functional software without having to purchase first, keep track of the number of days you've used it, and have to ask for a refund. On a different thread here recently someone who already owned Luminar 4 had a difficult time getting his refund when he decided he did not care for Luminar AI.

I have it and it works fine. Also have Topaz programs. Have you considered ON1? I rather prefer it. Photoshop is okay for some this and I have it too.
