Thank you for the explanation.
We have joke in Brazil in which a candidate for council grabbed
a crate of beer bottles and started to talk. A bunch of people gathered
around and, as the speech elongated almost everyone has left,
except for one guy. The candidate thanked him effusively and asked him:
"What in my speech has made you stay here ?"
The guy replied:
"I have to take this crate back to the bar before my boss return".

No matter where, sometimes we do not even notice, we always carry
something in common. Cheers.
Thank you for the explanation. br We have joke in... (show quote)

Many photographers have artist's eyes, some do not.
To me photography is a medium, like oils, pastels, etc.
Some people can use that medium to a great extent, creating art.

Totally agree!

First Anhanga, that is one of the most humorous lines about photography I have read in a while, is it yours or were you quoting someone? Traderjoe, I know your messing with us, as this topic in various ways seems to come up fairly often in this forum. This is a good thing, we need to periodically exam our motives and skills, everyone here wants to grow and improve their photographic abilities. However, to define photography as anything but an art form is to totally miss the whole point of the photographic process. Really!

No, I am not quoting anyone. That line was already explained on a previous post.
I would certainly use quotation marks if that was. Cheers.

Why, traderjohn, are you on here?
If the photographic medium is not to your liking, or is inferior in your opinion, sign off.

Just as a painter tries very hard to slide his brushes around artfully!

I am assuming that, from your use of the word emulsions, your referring to film. So, like me, you like to use film in your Art pursuits.

I took it as a play on words- emulsions/emotions.

There has never been a definition of art that has been universally recognized. There will always be those who call photography a "craft" instead of art. This applies to ALL crafts. Where is the line between? No one knows. All creative endeavors have this ambiguity.
