For those of you that own the Sigma 150-600 Sport, I was wondering if anyone has seen a need or desire to fine tune the focus a various focal lengths? I haven't really heard any complaints or concerns right out of the box...so far.

I have however, heard of people being extremely pleased with the IQ performance with no adjustments, then got the USB dock, spent some time adjusting and was even more excited with the results. Most seem to think it outstanding straight from the box.

Has any of you Sport "owners" found this to be true?
For those of you that own the Sigma 150-600 Sport,... (show quote)

I have only used mine to update the firmware but plan on getting more into it now that I have some time to work with it. I can see where the dock will be a great tool.

I finally got out in the field for a shoot.
Shot with a D810, handheld.

Great pictures. I also purchased the Sigma 150-600mm Sport and absolutely love it. With the Sigma you can also purchase the dock to fine tune the lens and update it's firmware from the comfort of your home.

It's supposed to be a great lens . It scores better than four primes that would
Cost you $4000 to buy . In that range . Here you get it all in one lens for
$700. Or there about's .

You are spot on in your observation. I have the 18-35mm version for my D7100 and plan on buying the 24-35mm for my D810.

I shoot mainly motorsports and am looking at adding a lens. Doing research on the Tamron 150-600 and the two Sigma 150-600's.

I am mainly interested in hearing from those who have been shooting with the Sigma sports model.

thanks,
Gary

I purchased one about a month ago and it is a great lens. n my opinion you will not go wrong purchasing the Sigma 150-600mm Sport. Purchasing the Sigma dock also is a plus.

Curious as to why you would get the 24-35mm when you already have the 18-35mm....seems redundant..?

I image I should have given a better explanation of what I wanted to achieve. The 18-35 is for APS-C camera which my D7100 is. The 24-35 is for Full Frame cameras which my D810 is. While either lens will work on both cameras some what I want the correct lens for each camera. I have no plans of selling the 18-35 to buy the 24-35. I just want the correct lens of each camera.

Several months back GPS Phil convinced me to purchase the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art for my Nikon D7100 and I couldn't be happier. Now I am thinking of picking up the Sigma 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM Art for my Nikon D810 and am looking for some feedback from current owners of the lens. Thank you in advance for your thoughts. 8-)

I bought the Nest Gimbal head from Carter at the Camera Cottage. It is made of carbon fiber, it is light weight, and very accurate. The controls are easy to operate, and the knobs are large and easy to find in the dark mornings when setting up. It comes with a storage case, and 5 year warranty. For the price, and Carters support on use, it can't be beat.

avemal, it"s so well liked because it"s a well built quality machine with great features. wont part with mine, it"s used as much as my 800e--hope this helps

I agree my D7100 fits in with my 810 quite well. I would not part with either one. The D7100 is the one I take to work with me every day.
