You seem to have gathered a lot of useless answers on this question.
I think you may have a conflict between windows firewall and a virus protection program firewall. If both are attempting to work you will get a conflict and should turn one off. Usually the windows firewall as antivirus program will not work correctly if you turn off theirs.
As far as antivirus programs; the computer most likely came with a trial version of Norton (mine did). I have tried that in the past and found it too be a resource hog that really slows the computer. I have used McAfee for most of ten years and am generally very satisfied. Turning of some items like checking each website you go to makes it work quicker with seemingly little impact on its major functions.
A word of caution: don't sign up with mcafee for automatic renewal of their software. The program can be found much cheaper online that what they charge on their website. It's just that you have to spend some time looking. December is usually best to find a deal, or after January if you can wait. A three license program is best if you have a desktop and laptop or any combo of three or less.

Really good answer, thanks so very much!

I understand the basic polarizing fundamentals, but given my awkward situation (see below), I was hoping to possibly correct the sky in postproduction. Pretty crazy idea, I know, but looking for anything other than the early/late/cloudy conditions option which is not always available.

I am helping my wife begin a new 2 year project and will need to edit vertical Raw panoramas from a Lumix DMC-FZ70 (20mm wide-angle, f2.8). Unfortunately, the subjects (huge, antique trees) will be back-lit (South facing moutaintop), hence the expected need for postproduction burning, dodging, HDR, etc. I've been told I need to underexpose (-.33?) for later recovery of shadow details. She will be using a pistol grip monopod with 90 deg. swivel for vertical panoramas.
Really good answer, thanks so very much! br br I... (show quote)

1st: use a tripod and not a monopod if possible.
2nd: If you use HDR you may be able to manage the project without a CPL. Using HDR would also solve the under/over exposure question.

Hi Kathy,
Are you using HP Original ink cartridges? Aftermarket cartridges will almost always show as out of ink even though they may be brand new.

I have had HP photo printers for at least six years, have always used aftermarket cheap cartridges (hundreds) and have only had this happen twice and it turned out the cartridge electronics were defective in both cases.

That "sign" is the backboard of one end of a horseshoe pit. Why the constant snide remarks?

Thanks MT. He is a very annoying creature. Saw someone bragging about the PITA's leaving and wondered why he was still here.

That's like asking, "you're dying of thirst, so which would you rather have: water or water?" while ignoring Gatorade (Sony).

I absolutely hate the taste of Gatorade!!!

In the D7000 menu settings, there is a control for the orientation, under the setup menu (tools symbol). When this function is turned off, the image will not rotate the orientation, but left on, it should rotate those taken to the correct orientation. I don't know if the D7100 is the same but may be. You can also set the playback menu to 'rotate tall'. Hope this helps.

'Rotate Tall' is only to rotate photos on the cameras view screen so you don't have to turn the camera to view them.

So after all the drama, have you sold the camera?

Lets be clear. It is Conservative politicians who present this kind of bill.

Regardless, I think it is against the law to physically assault a police officer when he is doing his duty.

So the question is why propose a law that is already on the books.

There are no Conservative politicians in New York State.

Eleven in Roman numerals is XI, not XXI, which is twenty-one.

What is your point? The plugin is called Elements XXL, not XXI.

Apologies, but it's confusing. I presumed you were referring to Elements 11.

That's funny. Too many people with too much time on their hands always ready to correct any little mistake (even if there wasn't a mistake made).

We don't run the Erie Canal anymore, either.

Actually we do.
Today, it is part of the New York State Canal System. In 2000 the United States Congress designated the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor[2] to recognize the national significance of the canal system as the most successful and influential human-built waterway and one of the most important works of civil engineering and construction in North America.[2] Mainly used by recreational watercraft in the recent past, the canal saw an upsurge in commercial traffic in 2008.

And trust me, no govt entity in New York pays its own way.

Wrong. I downloaded cs2 and it works. I never purchased cs2 or any other nor did the download site ask if I had.
