Serendipity or happy accident sometimes gives us the unexpected. I have gotten a few of these. Here is one om mine.

My cat Casey sat by the stones and when I went down to pet her, I saw this snake trying to make a meal of this slug. Needless to say, I ran into the house and got my camera and started shooting. This will be a series of shots of a lifetime.

In the past, when I wanted only the film developed, that is what I got. It depends where you take the film to be developed. I have not used film in 5 years as it got to be to expensive. But it is a fun medium. If my finances improve, who knows, I might take it up again.

The one thing that I experienced was a lack of money to go places. I have two acres and I discovered the world of macro and flowers and things that did not interest me in the past. I got a lot of firsts because of this. I take breaks from photography and do arts and crafts and go back to photography again. When I get the block, I give myself assignments. It gives me a chance to challenge myself.

This is my cat Casey, and she looks like she is reading the contents of the bag, but in reality she was looking up at the other cat, Whitey. She was deciding weather to pounce or not, she did not, but I could not help catching the moment.

Hmmm, lets see...

I found that giving myself assignments helped me a lot in my photography. For example, I went to the zoo for two days and took a lot of photos. I took close up, long shots, blurry shots, bad shots and good shots. I asked some friends what they thought, and some were so nice to say that everything looked nice (yeah right) and some that into detail what they did not like (develop a thick skin). Flowers and macro are now my specialty.

I have been using and outside Sony reader for a long time and have not had any problems with it. Also, no loss of photo quality. The reader on my computer did not have a micro card reader and had to buy one that had several slots for readers. It became my primary reader for all my cards.

How much is to much? It depends on what you are photographing. I discovered bees when I got my first digital point and shoot five years ago. Bees do not stay in one place for a very long time, unless it is cold. My ration used to be for every 100 shot, I deleted about 80 and twenty were the best but 10 were very good and two or three or one were fantastic. Over the years, I became very good at getting better bee photos that my deletions are now to a minimum. For flowers, I take a few but try to vary my technique to get different angles.

I have two cameras, q Fuji Z70 and an Olympus S5010. they are easy to use, and have a low learning curve and take good photos.

I am Katkase and I just joined today. I have been taking photos since I bought my first SLR in 1979. That was eons of years before digital has become the norm. I bought a used Olympus 3.2 camera on Ebay and it was a trouper. I had taken millions of great and not so great photos, had great color and was a moldy oldie, that has since dies last month. But that camera taught me a lot about photography. I have two new point and shoot cameras now, but they do not hold a candle to the old one. I am an eclectic photographer and take everything from macros to scenes and pets and whatever interests me which is a huge list.

I post some of my best ones on flickr and some other photo sharing sites.

I also make my own post cards and I have not bought a post card ever since I got my first computer. I make eBooks of my photography as I am an eclectic photographer. I have included a few examples but I have way to many subject matter to list.
