That seems to be the best bet. It is small enough and 97 reviewers give it a 5-star average rating. The only rating below a 4 said it was sharp and well-made for an inexpensive lens. The only reason he downgraded it to a 3 was because the connecting plate was plastic rather than metal. This fact did not seem to bother others and it doesn't bother me as I see this lens as a one that will not get a great deal of use. I only plan to use it for occasional walks through towns or crowds like at fairs or carnivals.

To revive the steel industry in America would be like closing the barn door after the horses ran out. The old steel industry as we operated it is antiquated. That along with the greed of both the unions and management brought down Bethlehem Steel.

It is a shame because Bethlehem Steel was a key factor in the US victory in WWII. The 16" guns were cast right here in Bethlehem. These guns were on the largest battleships and could throw a projectile 25 miles. Also by the end of the war, Bethlehem Steel was producing one ship per day, and that played a very important role in the D-day invasion.

The new wave of steel production is through what is termed mini-mills. Japan is a leader in these but England also has embraced this kind of production. To revive steel production in America, a lot needs to change beginning with the method of production and having a workforce of skilled workers who accept a fair wage for their skills. Management must also take a hit in the pocketbook and not have a CEO making 25 million a year plus another 5 million in benefits. Salaries across the board from janitor to CEO should be directly proportional to the net income of the company (no golden parachutes please).

We need this industry back in America and it is my opinion that rather than put billions into a colony on Mars, we should be investing in reviving essential industry in this country. We have given away too much for too long and it is time to start taking some things back.

Nope, I don't need no stinkin' mirrorless camera and I fer sure don't need no stinkin' full frame. I don't even shoot raw. But they kept it up, they kept showing me stuff till the rationalizer kicked in and my tiny rat brain went to work. What if I get a really good deal on a camera that I really, really want where I can get away with my present lenses for some time to come with no further expense and it will do everything my D7500 and my Z50 will do combined, plus have room for more tricks later if I want to learn them? The pressure was too much. Z7ii on the way. I don't even have the camera yet and I already spent $70 on a memory card (and that was on sale!) and as soon as I get the body to make sure all is well, another $50 or so for a card reader since my old one has no CFExpress type B slot. Might just need another dedicated monopod and maybe a ball head. So much for no further expenses... ah, but then I'll be a really, really great photographer, right? (Did I tell you about the 180-600 they keep showing me?) 😁

Two nights ago I did a gig at a Chamber of Commerce event at a very high end community center. I was hired by the chamber, as was a social media guy, and a video guy. There was also an independent person taking photos. What we all had in common (and this has never happened before!) was we were all using Sony equipment. Now I know this will ruffle the gentle feathers of so many on this blog, but the reality is that market share is everything, and I as a Sony shooter am even amazed at how much is changing in the professional sphere. Years ago it was rare to find a pro shooting Sony, and now it seems that we are the majority. For there to be four image makers at an event and all of them using Sony had me pretty shocked. People vote with their feet and their money, and the other brands have to be on notice to up their game.

I do realize that this is not an S lens but would like your thoughts on it. It is on sale for $899.95 on the Nikon site. regularly $1199.95 for a savings of $300. I have the Tamron 24-70 F2.8 and can use it on my Z6ii with an adapter. There is a lot of difference in weight between using the Tamron with the adapter an just using the Nikon Z lens. Yes I do realize I am loosing 4mm on the wide end but it would be much lighter. I and researching trying to see what the quality difference would be between the two. I will always have the Tamron if I need the extra width. I have been doing research on this so I don't need to be called lazy for asking here for your input.
