It is set to sort by capture time. It sorts correctly for the two file types but they are not interspersed by capture time as when all same file type. Sorts cr2, then cr3.
I just acquired a Canon R3. I also shoot with a Canon 1DX II.
When importing into Photo Mechanic the “Capture” sort is not blending the images together. Instead I get the CR2 images in one block and the CR3 images in another block.
Any ideas on how the get the images sorted by Capture time?
I shoot with a pair of Canon 1DX II cameras.
I recently tried to purchase the Canon 28-300mm lens from Adorama. The first one errored out (Err 01) immediately on both cameras. Sent it back and was sent a replacement. It went two days before same error. Returned and purchased another from KEH. It went about 3 weeks before same connectivity error.
I have cleaned contacts on cameras and lens to no success. Will send back to KEH as under warranty.
My question is this common for this lens?
I realize I am buying a used lens that may be 10 years old, but is perfect for a lot of events I photograph. Alternatives?
And does anyone know if Canon CPS will still service this lens?
I believe the reader damaged a “slot” in the card and when inserted back into the camera (male to female) it bent a pin.
I recently had to have two cameras repaired due to bent pins in the Compact Flash slots.
Am confident that this was caused by a card reader (which has been replaced) when trying to offload images.
My question is there a way to test a CF card for internal blockage/damage of a “slot” that could be causing this?
I have since purchased some new cards but I have about 10 CF cards and would like to see if I can figure out how many are damaged (and if repairable).
I know I can visually inspect them but wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
Check out PPA. If you are a member they offer coverage
I have a canon 1DX and 1DX Mark II.
Am renting an R5 for the weekend to photograph some Equestrian events.
On the 1DX there is a caveat to get 12fps
Frame Rate 1DX (Ken Rockwell)
12 FPS only if shutter speed at 1/1,000 or faster, ISO below 25,600, manual focus, and maximum aperture. Change any of these, like shoot a stop down or with AF, and it gets slower
Am guessing similar for MarkII
Does anyone know if there are similar conditions for the mechanical shutter on the R5?
Apple support told me to call Canon. Here we go on the merry go round
I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro and iMac to the latest Apple release.
Neither device will recognize a standard CF card. They both will read an SD card and CFAST 2 card, but no recognition of a regular CF card.
Purchased a new reader and got same result. Purchased new card and same result.
Have put in inquiry to Apple but no response.
I can offload images into LRC using cable to camera from my 1DX so is not the card I am presuming.
Disk utility on devices does not see the card.
Any suggestions or resolutions?
I see several sites quoting this for battery life
“ Battery Life. The Canon EOS R5 uses an LP-E6NH Rechargeable Battery. And it can only Shoot about 490 Shots without EVF and 320 Shots with EVF.”
I’m about to replace my 1DX Mark II with an R5. I am concerned about the “specs” on the number of images per battery charge as I primarily photograph Equestrian events and may take as many as 2,000 images a day.
My research show about 320 raw images per charge is projected. Is this accurate for those with this camera?
Am considering battery grip to double image count.
Just looking for real world experience.
Any guidelines on how to calculate actual “frames per second” on a 1dx mark I?
In reading manual it denotes 12 fps if at least 1/1000 shutter speed and manual focus.
If using auto focus and less than the prescribed shutter speed what can I expect for fps? How do I get the best burst rate consistency?
I am not looking to trigger flashes! I’m trying to trigger the shutter on a remote camera using Pocketwizards
I have remotes for strobes. Have not purchased Pocketwizard.
I shoot a lot of equestrian events. Need to set remote camera to capture low angle on jumps. Have researched but everything I see shows remote camera same as handheld.
Curious if fps is different on both cameras if it would cause a problem
