I guess no one is aware that in the last five years more murders were committed with hammers than rifles. Look it up!

I am in Tulsa, OK. Gas prices around $3.16 per gallon (middle of the index), housing prices up a little over last year, unemployment better than the national average. Problem is that the country's economy is never going to recover from the current debts being run up for social services. As happened in ancient Rome, as soon as the citizenry discovers they can vote themselves benefits without contributing anything to the economy, the nation is doomed.

Like the story about the Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer who pulled over an older gentleman. The older guy rolled down his window, presented his license, told the officer he had a concealed carry permit under the Oklahoma Self Defense Act. The officer says: "Thanks for telling me, what are you carrying?" The older guy says: "I have a 45 automatic inside my belt at 5 o'clock, a 9mm automatic under my left arm, and a 38 derringer in my right boot." The officer says: "My word, what are you afraid of?" The older guy says with a smile: "Not a damn thing!"

When I left home, my mom told me:

What I want to know is how long do we have to wait before pressure cookers are registered? Obviously, there are despicable people using them and yet they can be freely purchased over the counter. What is wrong with this country?

I never thought that I would carry a concealed weapon until a few years ago when an unbalanced individual walked into a cafeteria in Kileen, Texas and began casually shooting people who were doing nothing but eating lunch. Just because you carry doesn't mean someone might not shoot you, but if they shoot me, it will be at some risk to themselves.
