Through my rifle’s optics I watched the 14-inch steel plate topple over 1,000 yards away. A broad grin of satisfaction grew upon my face. It would stay there all day.

After touching off literally hundreds of thousands of rounds over my lifetime of dedicate aim, small miss, small marksmanship discipline, making my first 1000-yard shot on my new Discovery Channel TV program is unquestionably the pinnacle of my ballistically coefficient life...http://www.newsmax.com/TedNugent/America-Red-Ryder-BB/2012/07/06/id/444627

I find it very sad that apparently a majority of Americans feels endangered enough to carry weapons at all times.

I suppose we feel it comes from feeling better off to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it. We have learned the police aren't always there when you need them and court decisions have proven that they are not obligated to protect you.

Good article...I like Ted; he's outspoken, and has just enough sarcasm to get under people's skin while he watches them react.

I'd like to meet him one day.

"a majority" is overstating it a bit. A relatively small number of law abiding Americans carry guns on a regular basis. A large majority of criminals carry guns on a regular basis.

I was trained to shoot in the Boy Scouts and refined my skill in the USMC. Shooting is an extremely relaxing sport and should be at least be tried by everyone. The self discipline required to make a good shot is hard to learn any other way.

Ted Nugent is a very interesting character, to be sure.

What's not funny is the 85 people that were shot and killed in that massacre yesterday. Even stranger, CNN, FOX nor any other network covered the story. Oh, it happened in the USA...

wrr,
Okay, you've got my attention. Now how about telling us where this happened or linking us to an article or source?

I'd like to hear more about this alleged 85-person USA massacre. As a journalist I need to know at least "who, what, where, when, how & why."

I am a liscensed carrier and a hunter safety instructer in Pennsylvania and a life member of the NRA. A major problem of the firearms problems in this country is the fault of the courts and the lawyers that protect the violators of the thousands of firearms laws we have. The judges often release the violatos back on the street and the lawyers use the plea bargain to get them free. The law enforcement officers are fighting a loseing battle. As far as Ted Nugent, he is a narcicist bag of wind and a wild game law violater who should not be allowed to have a hunting liscense any where in this country.
