Yesterday was a beach day and here are a few shots I thought were fun. No post-processing done as I had the camera storing images in raw format and learned that batch converting to jpg is really slow and I need a lot more memory for my computer if I'm serious about photography. Just organizing things is taxing my machine and sucking up a lot of time.

Here's why I asked. Quite a coincidence!

You're right! A lot of similarities.

I have found dehaze to be magic with far reaching landscape scenes like yours. Especially at high altitude at Lake Tahoe and also in the Napa Valley, California which is separated from the ocean moisture by a range of mountains where cloud tend to pile up.

Water vapor while seemingly transparent, causes a diffraction in the air like larger water drops do on the surface of objects. A CPL will help and the dehaze function and some contrast manipulation i LR would be the tools that help me the most.

The property is very appealing. I hope you find a buyer who falls in love with it.

Many thanks for the tip and best wishes :). If I do, I'll spend buy a whole bunch more camera equipment.

Lightroom's dehaze tool is great at cleaning up haze and bringing out details under such situations.

Thanks for the tip on the dehaze tool. I'll check it out.

Curious, what is a full translation of "Chacra las cumbres"?

Chacra doesn't have a direct translation. Even the Uruguayans aren't exactly sure what it means LOL. My translation would be "country house in the peaks". Juan probably has a better translation than mine.

Very much so :)

>>>Very nice place. It is for rent or sale?
For sale. Casi tres palos. (Translation - not cheap!)

Thanks very much Juan for the tip!

Uruguay. In all honesty, the skies here as clean as you will find and the day this shot was taken was as clear as they come. If there is lack of detail, it is was not due to the environment that day.

Thanks for the circular polarizer tip.

I love doing landscapes even though I'm almost always disappointed with the results.

I'm a real estate agent and so most of my photography is of real estate. I think that's how I started becoming interested in trying to make every shot worth something (even when the subject is dreary). Today I was shooting a "chacra" which around here refers to a country house although in other parts it refers generally to a small rural property (less than 250 acres). I guess I didn't put the battery firmly in the charger because I showed up and had no battery so I had to resort to my cell phone. Maybe one day I'll go back with my camera but in any case if anyone has experience in long-range shots like the one with the pool and horizon, I'd love to hear how you get the distance to be as high resolution as possible because the horizon has a lot of detail which is lost in this photo. I haven't touched this photo up at all. Maybe it could use some? In the end, the photo will only be in a 800 pixel wide slideshow on a web page but I love taking shots that make you look and the one with the wide expanse of landscape isn't quite there. I like the one of the water in the pool, though.

Wow! Incredible. How nice to have such a target rich environment. Must be very inspiring.

Hi all,

Found this site through some random search and stumbled upon a picture from jlg1000 who appears to live not too far from me and since we both live in Uruguay, that seemed like a nice omen. So if you see this jlg1000, a hat tip to you for introducing me to this nice little online community you've got going here.

I was standing at about -34.777302, -55.252809 looking west when I took the photo.
