Beautiful photos, Mike. Wherever there is basically flat land, there can be a farm. Folks and animals need to be fed.
Quite a few farms in the Matanuska Valley, about an hour's drive east of Anchorage. They were established in the 1930s, during the Depression when folks were encouraged to settle there.
