Sent to me by a cousin. I use my cell phone frequently, but my life is complete without one.
Enjoy,
Mark

Even the Droids are getting up to $1,000.
No more free upgrades either. My last was a free upgrade from a flip-phone to an S-III.
Still have the S-III.

Thanks for the memories. I remember when I was a kid in the mid 50's, we had a "party" line. There were 3 homes with the same # but 3 different ring patterns so you knew who the call was directed to.

Yes, we had one too in the 40's/50's. I have to admit that occasionally I did listen in on the party line. I still remember my phone number from the 40's. Asbury 6491J. (Lived near Asbury Park, NJ)

I keep my phone ready at all times! It is in the glove-compartment of my car. My laptop sits next to my easy chair.

Mark, Thanks for the memories. My friends and I would call the local store and ask "Do you have Prince Albert in a Can", They would day yes and we would say, "Let him out". Yes they did not know who was calling.

I can remember if my mother was on the phone she would hear a "click" if someone else was listening. She worked as a switchboard operator during WW2.

No, all I remember, it was always 2 cents a min. no matter what time a day, or at night!

Some people had public lines. My Grandparents in Kansas actually had an old crank phone which shared a line with other farmers in the area. Each farmhouse had their own crank sound, so if you want to call neighbor #3 you'd do their individual crank. It was another time and place.
