Flea bay sell lens filter removal tools, I bought a set of two for about $6.00 they are much like a scaled down oil filter removal tool. The ones that I bought are plastic, look useless but work. No longer have a link but just type in "lens filter removal tool" should get You there.

Some months ago a contributor to one of My posts suggested I "owed" a couple of pictures of My then upcoming trip.
The top picture is a pano of 4 photos of Mt Everest taken from Gawu pass Tibet. Nikon D7200 Nikkor 55-300,@195mm F11-1/800 sec iso-100.

You may want to look here for a USB cable to meet your needs.

I am pretty sure HDMI will not do what you need it to do.

Hi, Thanks had meant USB (Techno brainsnap).

To send video and audio HDMI longer then 75 feet and that may be to long, you need converter for CAT6 or fiber. You would need the tramscoder and devotee.

Something like this:

Thanks for the info, am going to give the 5m. USB ago. Thank You.

HDMI Cable ????
Are you sure you are not talking about a USB Cable ??? HDMI is video - not suitable.
5 meters is the normal limit for a USB Cable.
You can go longer in some cases than 5 meters. ( I have )

Oops, Technology has confused Me again. I did mean USB. And many thanks for the reply, seems that it should be okay. Thank You.

Had a fairly similar dilemma recently. Wanted to buy a new Nikon camera. Grey imports were considerably cheaper and were offering a similar "Vendors warranty" as opposed to the Nikon Australia supplied camera with Nikon warranty. Decided on the local seller at the higher price with full factory warranty.
After 5 weeks broke a control dial (possibly user error). The entire top of the camera had to be replaced. Was pretty pleased with My decision then. Granted that is not the norm.

Hello, Looking at controlling the camera from laptop via a HDMI cable. A 3m. cable would be in most cases be long enough, a 5m. would be plenty long enough. Would there be appreciably more "loss" with the longer cable?
Many Thanks,
Mike.

Welcome. How did an Australian end up with Kathmandu for an avatar? I was expecting to see something from Nepal.

Thanks, Sorry to mislead You, A couple of months ago while planning a trip to Nepal & Tibet for later this Year, was scratching My head for an avatar on another site, brochures were on the desk. I have gotten a bit fond of it now.

New to this web site and forum. I regularly travel outback Australia particularly the deserts and "The Red Centre". I sit of an evening & look in awe at the Stars and wonderful sky, often wondering if only I could put it in My pocket and take it home (city) with Me.
So I started investigating Astrophotography. What a learning curve!
That,s why I am here to pick brains and hopefully contribute in some way.
Many Thanks for listening.
Mike.
