And I don't agree with any of the crops suggested
If you like funky, try Austin. Good restaurants including great BBQ
I have been a Nikon user since I got one while I was inn the service. Over the years, my pictures of places we have traveled are said by my friends to be better than theirs. I try to get unique angles and I know how the use my cameras which many don't take the time to do. Years ago I gave my kids their first Nikons and some of hand my downs and my daughter especially takes excellent pictures of my grandchildren and places she has been. No reason it is Nikon, it was just what my first real camera was one. Not to mention that my uncle was an excellent photographer and he gave me one of his Leicas which I load with black and white film and still use occasionally.
I agree, My D200 went everywhere and I got several enlargements of 20x 30 and no problems.
Cherokee is interesting. I don't think anything has changed since we used to go in the 50"s
Timeliness is in the eyes of the beholder
Bar Harbour was always one of the places I loved to go. Seafood was superb, ice cream at this old fashioned stand. Good little stores. And don't miss Jordans Pond house as you leave Acadia. Southwest Harbor has a great little restaurant, Can;t think of the name.
I converted a D60 for B&W and then did a D200 for color infrared with Life Pixel. Have gotten some interesting results
I have a Fuji and a whole stable of Nikon bodies. But when I go to Europe or anywhere else, I carry a Nikon. It may be heavier but the picture quality is so much better. And I can carry my wide angle and stop down for effect.
I grew up on a ranch in Wyoming and my favorite horse for riding was a 1/4 horse mustang blend. He was wonderful to ride and fast.
I typically have a bag with two bodies, 2 or three lenses and a few other items. I carry a small camera in my vest. They take it all out every time. Amazing though, I leave from Atlanta and that is the TSA that misses more guns than any other. But they check those cameras.
I confess I was one of the last embracers of digital. I remember I was walking around taking pictures with my trusty Nikon film camera and a guy came up to me and said is that a film camera. And I said, Yes. He said that digital was the way to go and why hadn't I changed. So I got a simple digital and then a better digital and eventually I got really good digitals. But I do remember, I loved film. Still like the look of a film picture. I would not mind at all if we could go back.
oK I did:t want to indicate that my wife couldn't afford it or that i couldn't but she has always consider it a crazy obsession of mine. But I have always been obsessed wit that camera
I am trying to convince my wife that a Leica Monocrom would be a nice birthday present. Then she saw what it costs. But, I said, I have been wanting one for years and you do appreciate the black and white pictures I take, this would just make them even better.
