Thanks very much for all the replies. I am grateful for all your accumulated experience and expertise.
I just had a look on line and the wasabi ones that seemed the most recommended off brand batteries seem to be currently unavailable everywhere, so I guess I'll be going with the Nikon!
I'm looking at getting a/some spare batteries got a Nikon d7200, there is a large price difference between Nikon's and some of the generic alternatives.
Is it worth paying the premium for the Nikon one's, in peoples experience?
I've used them several times and found them very good.
Their appraisal of the quality of products is honest (I sold a camera body describing the conditions as good, and when they looked at it, they upped it to excellent)
Their pricing is competitive, and they pack everything very well and use a reputable despatch company.
The staff see knowledgable and generally respond to enquiries quickly.
I'd definitely look at them if I was going to buy - I've bought camera bodies, lenses and a speedlight from them.
there's a Nikon remote cable less remote that works with all that series Nikon ml3 that's inexpensive and I found worked fine with my D3200
I have this 70-300 which I use with a D7200 and I Have been delighted with it - you can often get a good price on a used one from MPB

Thank You everybody for the advice.
I have plumped for a used Nikon SB600 from MPB as I have used them several times in the past and found them to be very reliable, honest about the condition of their used stock, and efficient with their packaging and despatch.
Can anyone recommend a flash that is compatible with a d7200 - I've never used a flash before, apart from the built in one occasionally.
It will mainly be used for indoor photos.
I see a used Metz 36 AF 4 for a reasonable price on MPB - would that be a good starting point?
I see nobody has mentioned Photo Ninja which I have been using for several years - it's cheap - a one off payment, simple to use and doesn't take up that much memory, I have that and Luminar and find that the results in photo ninja are often more natural looking than some of the Luminar presets, and it takes less time to render to JPEG too.
And there's always GIMP too
I like Photo Ninja- not very expensive, easy to use and seems to run quite happily on my fairly old Pc, whereas Luminar 3 seems to be prone to hanging and crashing.
It doesn't have all the features of some of the other editors but for Raw conversion I think it's very good and it's good at recovering detail from underexposed Raw files and the colours seem less exaggerated than some of the Luminar presets to my eye

A prime lens for indoor family shoots. Looking to get the best possible shots of my grand kids indoors.
Thanks!
I use the dx 35mm lens on my d7200 for these sort of things - it's really good in low light and a brilliant lens for the price
I've been using a folding e bike - but it has just been stolen!
I go and try to pick up one of these tomorrow...
I love my d7200 too - hours of fun, I'm not sure if I'm a "good" photographer or not but I like nothing better in my semi retired days than wandering about on my bike with a camera!
I started a few years ago with a Nikon d3200 and the 18-55mm kit lens which I was very happy with when I was new to photography - you could get one of those within your budget easily if you buy a used one. Or the 3300,3400 and 3500 which have superseded then are also really good but you'll pay more for the newer models.
MPB are very good if you want to buy a used camera - it will certainly save a lot of money and I have found them to be very reliable.
Thank you
I now have a much better awareness of the vast array of stuff on offer.
I'm not in the market for professional quality prints and I don't need high volumes either - basically what I want is a reasonable quality domestic printer that is not costing it's price in ink every time I print a couple of photos at A4 - as many of you have pointed out - a surprisingly tall order!
Thanks for all the good advice
My HP printer that I bought about 10 years ago is proving too expensive in terms of ink - and also is not working very well with colour photos.
what would people recommend - I use it for word documents and printing photos in colour, I was happy with the print quality of my old HP (c4480), but shelling out the price I paid for the printer each time I need a new colour cartridge seems a bit steep!
