Today I found out that the owner of the Camera Cottage in Billings Mt had retired and closed the store just recently. Carter, who is known here as MTShooter ran one of the very few camera store in the area and did an outstanding job of it.He was always interesting to talk to and his store will be missed by all of the local photographers in the area. This is another change to adapt to and order more online. I needed some sensor swabs and had a strong desire for a new lens today. So I stopped at BB after I saw that Carter had closed shop. BB doesn’t sell Tamron or carry sensor swabs. So I ordered from BH and it will be here in a week or so.

I really wanted to like this when I saw it at Best Buy. I am interested in adding a mirrorless for birds and wildlife with my Tamron 159-600. In my opinion this body is too small to adequately support a big tele in normal operation capturing Eagals and wild life. Unless the kit is mounted on a tripod. I do think that Nikon has a great camera to use with the kit lenses.
The BH photo sale on the D610 with battery grip, 50 mm lens,and camera is a killer deal. Grab it while you can. Where else can you buy a full frame Nikon camera for $400!

A friend has just retired and is looking to get back into photography on a limited budget. He wants to do mostly Astro photography and he asked me for a recomendation on a kit for under $1000. He is willing to work with any camera brand. OK Hoggers, what would work within his budget? TIA
