Sorry still appeared on my computer screen. Think I'm going to quit following the forum for a while, it's getting too complex for a simple mind like mine.

You can buy an entry level smart phone and a D7200 with lens and get change back for what you will spend for the new I phones.

You might want to wash the dishes before cooking supper.

I will. Should I run my camera and lens through the dishwasher too?

As counterpoint to my own observation above that there probably really are many UHH members interested in discussing "how" - despite daily evidence to the contrary - I posted two questions in an August main forum topic, the second being similar to G Brown's, Is there an easy answer to why are there so few topics of substance here - outside of gear, software and travel destinations? Is there a cure?"

I'll start out with a blanket apology for some egregious lapses of decorum on my part.

I think the issue of "how is"" really a two part issue. First there are the "How do I do X or Y. Second, the is the almost unlimited knowledge possessed by various UHHrs.

I think part of the issue is that to ask "how do I" often results in:

If you would just do a search for "X". What I read into this response, and I'm sure others do as well, is "don't bother us elite members with such trivia we have better things to do than answer silly questions."

Second thing I believe, people like me asking dumb but honest questions, have no way to evaluate the conflicting answers we sometimes get. I am getting better at that after almost a year as a Hog I am getting to know the people but I humbly admit I have no answer to this problem.

Linda, correct me if I'm wrong, you seem to be saying there should be a way for you experienced people to share your knowledge without waiting to be asked a specific question. I know there are special forums for Macro Photography, Portraits, etc. and sometimes I go there. What I would like to see is a new topic, Why. A lot of you people have so much information to impart. Maybe if you start producing kind of mini-clinics, presenting facts and experiences the rest of us can draw from you could achieve what Linda seems to be suggesting.

Thanks for the response. The lens was mounted on the camera but I'll do that. Should I have any concern about dust in the interior of the camera, sensor contamination, that sort of thing?

Finally cooled off in SE Arizona a couple of days ago. Opened all my windows to air out a house stuffy from summer air conditioning. Went out for a few hours this morning and came back to find everything in the house coated in a thin layer of dust--including my D-7200 and micro nikkor lens which had been sitting on my desk. I blew the camera and lens off with compressed air. Anything else I should do, anything I should be worried about?

Right after I got married I told my wife that the secret to understanding men was to treat them all like super tall 5 year olds and everything we did would make sense. She never asked me to act my age again.

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.

I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.

I want the whole summer off.

I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all I knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother me, because you didn't know what I didn't know and I didn't care.

All I knew was to be happy because I was blissfully unaware of all the things that should make me worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible.

I want to play baseball in a vacant lot, without uniforms, leagues, or anything except a wood bat, an old glove, a scruffy, grass stained baseball and some kids with the knees worn out of their jeans.

I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to live simple again. I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.

So....here's my checkbook and my car-keys, my credit card bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, cause........... "Tag! You're it."

Milk with cream on top delivered by the milkman.

I'm only 75 but oh yes, I remember! I used to get my little butt warmed on occasion when I would take a teaspoon and scoop the cream off the top of the bottle before mom got it for her coffee. It was wonderful! Well worth the spanking.

Sitting in the backyard eating potato chips and sipping a little brew when I saw this weird bug crawling away from me. I investigated and this is what I found. Sorry the images are not better but I can' bend over anymore and if I fall I have to call 911. Think I'm going to have trade my Nikkor Micro 60mm in on a Micro 200.
