I am surprised I haven't seen this mentioned,
You can shoot in both raw and jpeg on your camera. Go to settings and quality. Then you will have a raw file to play with. The down side is you will use a lot of memory on your memory card. No big deal. Enjoy the journey

You're so mad you forgot how to write in English? Your post makes no sense. It was fixed? It was not fixed? It broke again after the 6-month warranty? You read someplace it was no longer eligible for repair should there be another problem? Not that anyone should really care .... Just put it next to your Atari 2600 those cheats would never repair either.
chg_canon. Thank you for your excellent advice and unwavering wisdom. You certainly belong on a web site
FYI and to clarify for the non English comprehension and even offer additional insight
The camera was repaired 8 months ago. They also failed to mention that in the future, they would no longer be supporting this camera
Yes, it broke after the 6 month warranty
Although you don't think anyone should care (least of all yourself) I think that a world class company should care
The post was offered to give some additional insight into Canon and their repairs. With a little luck, you will never need the repair services. But if you do, I hope that you get someone who cares as much as you and tells you to put it on the shelf next to your Atari and iPhone 2
I just had my first bad experience with Canon. I was at the beach for a photo surf shoot, and the camera shutter just kept going off. Pulled the battery out to soft reset, no solution. Call Canon service, they tell me the same thing, no solution
They recommend sending the camera in for repair. It will be fixed and I will have a 6 month warranty. I just got it back from being refurbished, fully repaired and perfect in JANUARY! To the tune of $180. Then the see the camera is no longer supported for repair, but they offered $30 off my next purchase through them
I was livid. This is supposed to be a world class company. I expected something more like: We are so sorry to hear about this, let us apply the $180 you have already spent toward your next purchase with us".
The representative did offer a cheaper alternative than new, REFURBISHED, they come with a 6 month warranty. Felt like I have been there and done that
JUST DISGUSTED WITH CANON. BUYER BEWARE
First look and thought... The shutter speed is to slow,
Second thought, adjust your depth of field by using a smaller aperture (f16)
Doing these two things should help, likely you will have to push up your iso to accomplish those two things.
For example, try a couple shoots on manual, using f16, 1/500 and adjust th iso to get the correct exposure.
I'll look forward to seeing the next batch of pictures, which I guess will be a week from now for Friday night football. Good luck
Ditto CO, well said.
A fourth option might be pp, isolate the bird and replace the background
This hs been a great thread..... we have gone from "nice shot".... to "can't fix stupid."
Pretty impressive. By the way, is stupid in the eye of the beholder ? or just inappropriate

For what purpose is the lure being used for? If it is not prohibited by rules or law it is just fine. The owl is not hurt and you get a great shot excellent.
Baiting for hunting deer is legal in many states. I don't agree with that but it is legal so it is fine. Here the subject is not hurt, mice are killed all the time as pests etc. The owl kills them as it would occur in nature (Nature is pretty vicious at times, not like Disney portrays) so no ham no fowl(sp
) except as stated above if prohibited by rules or laws.
For what purpose is the lure being used for? If it... (

Perhaps it would be better to trap mice in the barn and use them? The poor owl was definitely feeling cheated and insulted while eating the meal he had not really earned. So sad.
Great pictures. No cheating
A special thank you for including the numbers. And I love the picture.
I have got to say, if this is experimenting...... I can't wait to see the next level. WOW
Not sure if this is the obvious. But Florida

Please correct me if I do not get this 100% right;
Image improvement is not the big deal with mirrorless it’s the removal of a mechanical mechanisms that must be recalibrated to continue quality photographs along with the lightweight of camera and lenses.
Heck yes. Our President does. Why not?
Sorry...... A simple google search! Really?
