I have had one for past two years and it works great for me. Use a Canon 5D mii with up to 70-200mm lens on it with no issues.
I think you will like it.

Got a Generac 24k about two years ago. Was a little costly but I think it was worth it. If you do pursue this I would recommend a maintenance package; don't just let the unit sit there without checking oil level, battery condition etc on occasion. This should include monitoring device that sends you text/email if unit is or has been running and reason. It also lets you know if it detects problems (battery/oil etc).

Had the same problem a few years ago. Yes, you can get one off online but it's more fun going to your local computer store and find some young clerk and ask if they have floppy disc readers for computers; the look on their face will be priceless!! It took a while in my case to get the clerk to understand what I wanted; resolved when a much older store mgr. heard us talking.

I had this happen to my old iPhone a few years ago. It wouldn't fit my belt clip so I took it to the AT&T store; the rep said no problem and started to pick it up and then he suddenly jumped back. He wouldn't touch it; battery had swollen and he was surprised it hadn't ignited and given me a pair of "hot pants".
Just bought another battery and replaced it; no further issues.

If I were him, I would keep on driving to the nearest gas station and by me a Lotto ticket.

Last year I subscribed to something called Photo plus, the Canon Magazine. I had purchased an issue at Barnes and Noble and liked it. The magazine comes from England. It cost $118 for a year's subscription, pretty steep, but it is a good publication. I received the first issue, but nothing since. I have written to them and they said they would send the back issues, but so far i have not received them. My thinking is that the issue is with the mail, either here or in the UK. I am going to pursue it further, but I am not too confident.

I've had the paper subscription to Photo Plus for past few years; really enjoy it. This covid mess really caused delays in getting the mail from overseas. Had to make several calls to England to get resolved but it didn't help the mail situation, so I just switched to digital. Much better; everything comes in on time now.

And the birds eat this hot stuff?? What is name of that seed; haven't seen anything like that at feed store where I get our bird food.
As for the squirrel, I set up a feeder just for them (peanuts and corn cobs)away from the bird feeders but I also mounted a hanger on the tree where I can put a small cup of water in it for them. Now they have a way to wash down their meal!!

After ten years of almost daily, rough use, my son's Vanguard Tracker broke a restraint on one of its legs. It's still usable, but one leg (the one on the left) doesn't lock into position. With Christmas on the way, I ordered a Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 from B&H. That tripod got good reviews, and it will be here in a couple of days. We have several other tripods, so he won't have to use the broken one. A part actually broke and fell off. I'll take a look and see if it's a part I can buy and replace.

Got a 3+ 263AB last Christmas; really like it. Hope you enjoy yours.

Having been an insurance adjuster years ago I got a real kick out of this. We use to keep a "secret" file in the office with copies of stuff like this, police reports etc on dumb things people have said and/or done. When you wanted a good laugh you just went to that file.

For those of you who insist on carrying their camera gear on board (who doesn't !) there is a useful list here of airline cabin bag size and weight limits. Best to double check the small print on the airlines own website.

Many European airlines impose a weight limit on your carry on bags. Also, your cabin allowance may include an underseat 'personal' item not shown here which may or may not be part of your weight allowance. Some of the discount airlines have very strict policies and will even weigh cabin bags a second time on the boarding ramp. Very often the checked bag fee will be more than your seat fare. Stuffing your jacket pockets with your big lenses only goes so far.

Need to keep in mind the type aircraft you will be on as these number most likely apply to larger aircraft. I ran into an issue 2yrs ago flying Continental. Backpack fit just fine flying into Denver but switched over to a regional aircraft going into Jackson Hole; no way pack would fit into overhead and barely made it for under the seat.

[quote=jerryc41]Height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse. That was it. I waited half an hour in the waiting room and another half an hour in the "little room." Then I went out in the hall to see if they had forgotten about me. That had happened once to my wife. "Oh, sorry for the delay." I went back into the little room, waited a bit more, and then left.

I can walk and talk and type, so I guess I'm okay. Even better, I didn't get furious while the clock ticket away. I stayed calm, left the office, and drove home. This is why I don't like late appointments - after 10:00 AM.[/q

If the Govt takes full control of our health care, plan on waiting a lot longer (if you get in).

Have used these past few years and love them. Give it a try but note they are not all the same. It is recommended you get one based on your body weight so be careful. If that info is not clearly available at discount stores suggest you contact My Pillow first and see what color tag they recommend and then see if discount store carries the one you need.

Considering headed North to view/photo Northern Lights in 2019. Have seen a few shots on UH but was wondering what time of year and location these are from. What recommendations do any of you have. Both wife and I are retired so flexible on the time slot.

Not sure many of our kids today have much interest in old photos but if they do or don't try and get with relatives or someone who may know or help with dates taken and who and/or what is in the photo. No one seemed to make photos back then or at least our family didn't for some reason. I'm in my early 70's and I regret when my great grandparents etc were still alive for not sitting down with them and getting info. Would like to know who some of these old characters are.

Ran into a similar issue last year when headed to Yellowstone/Grand Teton area. Before you purchase another bag I would check with airlines on type plane you will be on and overhead bin size plus check with the bus company as well. Main aircraft wasn't an issue it was the regional flights where bin was too small. Bag just did fit under seat in front of me but took up leg/foot room Bus was same issue; overhead bins are small. Bus did have some extra seats/storage area toward back where I could keep the bag. Just had to run back/forth to get anything. Wound up with a Ruggard back pack; stuffed full but got the job done. Good luck and have a fun trip.
