I have been trading Fuji stuff with MPB in Berlin (I am Europe based) for some time without problem. Last transaction involved the sale of a camera which I rated “as new” and they still increased the value, and that without an exchange involved ! The only time I had a query (instruction manual in German) they responded immediately and resolved the problem.

I also just bought an X-T4 from MPB (Germany) rated like new. I’ve just checked and no sign of light, orange or otherwise on the screen or through the view finder. I’d contact them.

I have a soft spot for them because they started out in my home town in the UK. Now I live in France and continue to deal with them, buying and selling. They never question the state of the equipment and once even put my camera up a grade. My only quibble is that exchanging equipment takes quite a while in Europe. That might be because they're in Germany and I'm not.

Bottom line: so far, so excellent.

EXCELLENT COMPANY. I recently sent two Fuji cameras to their branch in Germany for sale. I had described them as in “excellent” condition but MPB would have none of my false modesty and upgraded both to “as new”.

I took a Japanese xf 15 55 lens for repair to Photo Tech four years ago. They took almost a month and in the end replaced it with a made in China equivalent for $240. No complaints with the results but in retrospect they could have done the operation more quickly. I was on vacation from Europe and would have preferred a faster turnaround.

Fuji is an initially steep learning curve depending on where you're coming from. The X-t1 was my first Fuji experience when I bought it a few years back and I still use it although I have newer versions. I wouldn't go back now. The film simulations are a definite plus and a good place to start for a more hands-on experience. Also there's a lot more film simulations out there in the Fuji community. I'm in Europe but $500 seems a reasonable deal. Does it come with a lens?

Beware, once you're hooked...

Thanks to everyone who gave me lens advice for my jaunt along the 1000 year old Roman aqueduct in the South of France. The photos don't do the engineers justice - they calculated a 12 metre drop over 50 kilometres over ravines and round hills.

Camera: Fuji X-T1, lens Fuji XF 10 - 24, mostly shot at the 24 end. Light fantastic (!) thanks to a strong Mistral.

Thanks all. In fact I’ll be trying to take the narrow part of the conduit, say about 5 feet across. On the basis of all your advice I’m leaning towards the 18 - 55 zoom.

On Monday I’m going to walk part of the Roman aqueduct which fed the Roman settlement in Nîmes in the South of France. The track is partly through undergrowth and the artefact itself is quite narrow. The weather forecast is for mainly clear skies. I use Fuji X cameras and own a bunch of zooms and primes. Can anybody advise me on which focal length they would go for? Thanks in advance.

I just sold an X-E3 and an X-Pro2 to buy an X S-10. It fits well between those two models, it feels solid and easier to access than the X-E3. For a long standing Fuji buff the controls involve a new learning process, in particular the C1 - C4 presets. I really like the way the LCD monitor folds in and self-protects. Still a lot to learn but worth the effort and the purchase. Enjoy it!
