"shoot without lens" function on Fuji X-H2 - hidden, or gone?

Having had other Fujis (all X-T models) I learned a while back that the oddly-named "shoot without lens" menu item needed to be set to "Yes" in order for the shutter to be tripped when a non-FUji lens with no electrical connections was attached to the camera. The good news was that, once set to "Yes", the bodies worked perfectly well no matter what lens I mounted.

Just got my X-H2 and while it is different in a number of respects, menu and control-wise, I see that A)putting a non Fuji lens on it disables the shutter - it just won't take a shot no matter what the AF or MF setting, and B) for the life of me I canot find any menu item that seems to deal with this. I checked the online manual, and it was pretty useless as well, as far as I can see.

I look forward to someone smarter and with experience to advise me where I have gone wrong (and hopefully the answer is "the X-H2 will not work with any non-Fuji lenses, because that would just suck).

I also posted this question on the FUji forum, but in case there is someone here who is not on that forum figured it can't hurt to try.

TIA

PS - oh, and CHG_CANON - don't bother telling me I shoulda gotten a Canon! :-)

It's not connected to UHH. Try Google.

Ha! I daresay not - I can't imagine him deigning to join a non-Canon list at all!

But he has a lot of good answers, so its fun to make a little fun...

You have a mirrorless camera, that's almost as good as having a Canon.

I don't know on a Canon you have to set the camera to shoot without lens or not. On a Nikon you can just shoot.

A non electronic lens, aka a legacy MF film lens, will need the mirrorless camera to be told to shoot without detecting a lens, probably on all digital mirrorless models and brands.

Fuji has a help line for their cameras which I have used. I highly recommend it (800) 659-3854

er, thanks, but if you actually read my second posting above you will see I did get an answer.

That is a problem, isn't it - people don't bother to read what has already been written and just put down their own response...I see that kind of behavior here all too often.

But again, thanks. And yes I am aware of their support line - they are in fact quite good.
