We were doing fine and I was enjoying the challenge by you until I read your second question: "Have you ever heard of it?" Is that how you try to "win" the argument, by ridicule and condescension? Go pawn yourself off on someone else and then think about responding like an adult.

Read the Eastman memo. Recall what Pence and Navarro have admitted that Trump wanted Pence to do on J****** 6th. Trump’s intent was too “Stop the Steal” by disrupting the Constitutional proceedings of certification and, in the end, change the outcome of the e******n. This was his plan, and it was a conspiracy. These facts are not in dispute—one can argue intent only. That is why he won’t be convicted.
Get informed!

You're the one who needs informed. Trump NEVER HAS wanted to win the e******n by theft or force. What he clearly DID want was for those around him and those who supported him to do wh**ever it would take to LEGALLY VERIFY that the e******n results were valid. THAT is what is not in dispute. The only reason that e******n of 2020 was never responsibly investigated is because there were too many ragtag, scared Republicans who wouldn't go through the process of a legal verification.

Trump probably will not be legally charged, but he and Pence, and Eastman, and a handful of other conspirators know the t***h, will be remembered in history for the attempted c**p.

Clearly a conspiracy? Based upon what? This carefully worded article of maybes and could haves? And the "bulls**t" statement on its surface is bogus because we're not given the context of actual statements either before or after it...it's nothing but a rabbit trail from a plethora of directions. The only thing that IS clear is that this is just another haphazard, keystone cop effort to discredit Trump by the same ones who actually DID conspire illegally for more than 4 years to get him out of office through 2 FAILED attempts of non-conviction impeachment. And let's also not forget about Adam Schiff's "ample evidence" of collusion by Trump that, for some strange reason, has NEVER been revealed by him. I wonder why that is?

I am going to Florida 2/7- 2/20. I have been there several years ago. I will spend a couple days in Orlando area. Apopka wildlife drive not open on those days. Then go to Merritt Island for a couple of days. Will try Black Point Wildlife drive. Then a couple days near Delray Beach and go to Watchehatchee WMA and Green Cay. The several days in Fott Lauderdale area. Drive over to Naples for a couple of days and go to Corkscrew Swamp. Are the places I’m looking at still good? What might be better or what others should I look at? Also would like to find a good place to photograph shore birds. This site has always been helpful.

If you're going to the west coast near St. Petersburg, check out Fort DeSoto park. Has a great variety of birds.

I'm traveling in North Florida soon. What are some of the "don't miss" photo ops for that area? I know I'll be in Gainesville and north in Miscanopy, Cedar Key, Bradford and Union Counties. My purpose will be to experience things as a first-time visitor (then write about them). Any tips appreciated. I especially would like a "perfect" location for a nighttime skyline shot (and maybe a dark place for star shots one night!!) THANK YOU!

Your tips last summer were invaluable during a road trip west! SEE??? :-) (My FIRST attempt at night shooting!) I DO love this group!!

I can only speak about Cedar Key. It's simply a quaint, relatively small and unhurried town right at the Gulf's edge. Plenty of bed-and-breakfasts to stay in, great, great views of the Gulf, and some good places to eat. If you enjoy seafood, go to Tony's where one of the menu items is its multiple year multiple award-winning clam chowder. Plenty of photo ops, especially if you can catch a storm approaching in the distance.

A shot from pro photographer Don Roos who is in Tokyo covering the Olympics. At least at this venue, there were far more Sony and Canon cameras and lenses in use than Nikon or other brands. Sony lenses have the "G" on them. Black "G" for G lenses, and red "G" for G-Master lenses. And every Sony camera in use is mirrorless. And remember all Associated Press staff photographers worldwide use Sony gear exclusively. Photo by Don Roos.

How about smart phones? Anyone notice those in the photographer’s pit?

I have learned a lot of things on this website, and I hope to learn much more, what I think would help people like myself would be for an experienced person on this site to give an new class possible daily depending on subject matter or weekly depending on subject matter, on all aspects of photography, set it up and teach us all about what it takes to become a good photographer and even maybe a series about the different subjects we have to learn to be successful.? Possibly very basic at beginning and then progressing to more difficult area as we go thru these courses, and have question and answer sessions at end of class to see if it was working, I’m aware there are other places to learn about this but we don’t know anything about them, but we know and trust hogs!! I talking about free or very low cost classes, and have experienced volunteers to take this program up and let’s see where it goes, thanks, topkat

Save the following website on your computer and your phone. This is a free website that is a veritable university for all things photography. When you go there, tap the 3 bars in the upper right corner, then tap "concepts and terminology." Proceed down the list at a pace that is comfortable for you, but don't let your excitement deceive you into thinking you'll cover everything in just a few days.

The other thing to do is go to this website and search for photography clubs near you. Type in your zip code as well as "photography." Read the description of each club to find one that appeals most to you. Some of them may be free, some may have a fee. The one I like near me costs $20 per year.

Please explain to me what is the difference between EN-EL, EL A and EL B.
Thank you for your time.

As some others have suggested, you should be able to look up this information on your own. But, here ya go, straight from Nikon:

I just looked at this camera on the NikonUSA website. It's clear from what we see there that Nikon does not care what anyone here thinks about this camera...it is not intended for us, and it is not being marketed to us. It is pretty obvious that the primary intended market is young women, not cranky old men. I suspect that will be more and more the case with products not only from Nikon but eventually from the other manufacturers. It looks like Nikon has perhaps learned an important lesson...if you are not in the pharmaceutical business, you can't build a business model in today's world by targeting cranky old men.

I think that there is a good chance that this could be a very successful product for Nikon, even if not a single person here ends up buying one. The style of the camera and of the lenses is very much something that modern folks could get interested in. Never mind whether it is technically competent or not (although it does appear to be so)...that is entirely not the point with it.

So my suggestion is to show it to your daughters and granddaughters. See what they say. And encourage them. Don't throw cold water on their response. You've got your mirrorless cameras that are here to save the world already. This doesn't have to be for you.

I agree 100% with this. Scrolling down Nikon’s website and seeing the marketing photos clearly shows it's for women and/or millennials. The one photo of the guy taking a selfie is designed to pull the younger set from his iphone for phototaking. Then, too, the color choices available are soft and popsicle-ish. It reminded me of the toy cameras from Play School from a few years back. So there it is, just my take.

I have a dilemma. There's no absolute right answer so let's agree to skip that answer. I'm heading to a beautiful place with landscapes and nature. I have (defined by quality) an A camera and a B camera. I have a extreme wide angle and a zoom with a big focal length range. Which lens would you place on which camera? High winds and lots of hiking so switching back and forth isn't a good idea. Thank you.

Camera A.
Of the 2 lenses, is there one of them that has performed better for you in the past or are these brand new? If you take the wide angle, you could act as your own zoom. I think I would try to look for photos on the internet of where you're going that hopefully has data listed, then maybe choose from those which lens might be best overall.

When I first started photography as a hobby, the rules for exhibitions were simple - The photo I entered was a picture that was not altered in any fashion. Today with the software available it is possible to "adjust" or enhance any or all of the original exposure. The sky can be changed from clear, blue daylight to a dark and stormy evening.
Items can be added and or subtracted etc etc.
What are the standards for entering a photo in a contest / exhibition when it is not explicitly stated? Are there ethics that govern what we do - or has photography turned into a new art form where anything goes as long as it is pleasing or interesting?
Just something I have been wrestling with and would like some thoughts.

I think about the only 2 places that "exhibit" photos not manipulated or untouched are at a jail or drivers license bureau.

I need a new battery for my D5500. B&H offers a Nikon battery (1800 mAh/13.3 Wh) for $40 and a Watson battery (1150 mAh/8.28 Wh) for half that price. I've never had a problem with B&H products so I'm wondering if there's any reason not to go with the cheaper battery since the amps and watt hours are roughly the same? I'm assuming the Watson will work with my Nikon charger since the dimensions and contacts have to be the same.

If price is no object, is there a superior product I should use in my camera?

Ok, here is what Nikon has to say about the battery for your camera:
https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/batteries/en-el14-rechargeable-li-ion-battery.html

Now it's your turn. You need to look at your camera manual and read FOR YOURSELF about battery usage and what Nikon will or won't do in case of damage due to the battery. No link provided, look it up on your own.
