I had this happen too, battery stuck in the grip and had to use long nose pliers to remove from the camera. Yes, never had that happen to OEM batts only 3rd party. 3rd party batteries cheaper, so after a few years I dump and replace them. A canon battery for a 6D Mark II can cost up to $100 and a third party can run for as little as $25. If I replace the 3rd party every 2-4 years have nothing to lose. Just REMEMBER to check these 3rd party batteries often for swelling.
Guess it's up to each of us to do as we each please. Good luck to all who use these 3rd party batteries and good luck to all...... Just keep shooting!

UHH has changed its format and not for the better.....It was interesting at one time, now just another media tool for people to attack others if not their same agenda. Go back to where you wear and leave well enough alone. If not broken, please refrain from attempting to repair and fix it. Thank you.....

My wife contracted Polio at 18 months of age. Wore a leg brace for a numbers of years and her left leg was left with no use whatsoever of her left leg. Now at age 75 she has been diagnosed post polio syndrome for years. The saying was use it or lose it, not it's save it and keep it.
She went from walking with a limp, to a cane, to crutches, to a manual wheelchair and now to now a power chair to get around. Anyone who believes that vaccinations due harm have no idea of the results of not having a vaccine to protect the masses. We went to GoldWater Memorial Hospital in NYC for testing and seen the basement which had so many iron lung machines which was used to let kids live, it's was enough to make you cry.
Vaccinations yes!

Jerry, I know what you mean. Age is 77 and if lucky I get four hours sleep a night and check out the alarm clock too. Guess the four hours works for me with an additional four hours napping at the kitchen table while using my chromebook. I have been known to fall asleep while searching the web for my wife. Guess this is what the Golden Years are all about? It sucks.....
Once I fell asleep while in a traffic jam, not a good thing.

I had State Farm PPP for about four years. I had $16000 coverage for my camera gear. Had to use it twice for lenses and they paid off right away. This year State farm PPP dumped me like a bad penny. Only good thing is that I'm 77 and my neuropathy has stopped me from running up and down football fields. Have been run over a few times while shooting semi-pro ball. Had two lenses 70-200 f/2.8 snapped in half.
Guess State Farm is like all the rest...... they love you as long as you put no clamies in. So now I give State Farm two thumbs DOWN!

He’s talking about a viewfinder that is basically a hole through the camera, like an Instamatic had. Not like an SLR.

I had no idea what a "peep hole" viewfinder is. Thanks for the heads up.

Personally, if I am spending $2,000, $3,000 or $4,000 on a camera, I don't mind spending an extra $50 for a OEM battery. Also, if I spent $4,000 on a camera, my wife would probably divorce me, so batteries would be the least of my problems.

Do as I do, all camera cost between $450-$550 and lenses go from $150-$250 and stay out of the dog house. If my wife knew the true value I would be sleeping with my camera and lenses from now on!

I shoot semi-pro football and ice hockey games too. Have done editing with LightRoom Classic and ran through 500-700 shots and down to about 150 by Sunday, and posted on the teams FB page.

No trouble with LR Classic, works fine all the time so far. Hope I didn't jinx myself.

If you purchased a refurbished Canon lens, what has been your experience with it? Are you glad that you purchased refurbished instead of new?

I have purchased seven refurbished lenses from Canon and all work great and look like new too. No chips, dents, dings or anything. If you can wait,at times Canon runs so real good deals on these lenses. Also the guarantee is just the same as if you purchased a new lens, can't beat that.

I would assume at this time of season that a bunch will be 'OUT OF STOCK' Seems like twice a year they run these great sales and restock their supply of refurbished lenses. If you can I would wait......

Good luck to whatever you do and Merry Christmas to all!

If you really want to insure your photographic equipment then State Farm will do that for you. I used them years ago when I was going back and fourth to China. They require you to take your equipment to a photographic store and have them write up an appraisal for it. It will be insured for cost of a replacement.
Good Luck, David

When I insured my photo equipment I just had to show them via internet bills of sale for every item. I covered bags, monopods, tripods, batteries and chargers, slings, anything else I have, etc.

https://www.statefarm.com/insurance/home-and-property/personal-articles-policy I used this policy twice and StateFarm paid off in full with monies for replacement equipment. A sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and another lens, forgot the size and type. Paying about $340 a years for $19,000 coverage.

Converted from color to BW..... I think that some photos just look better in BW. This was shot at a night game and the lighting really sucked in the end zones.
