Hunting, fishing, camping (the real kind using a tent), motorcycle touring,
computer repair (still make a little money doing so I can do the other things) Still like rock climbing, but found I'm not as strong as I used to be, so I stick to easier climbs. Then there's the grandkids they are a great hobby, just to much fun watching them grow up! Of course there's always photography!

Htc vivid android very nice 8mp camera hd video. apps galore!
goes wireless for internet when you're near a hotspot(mc dees starbucks etc) decent call quality. the bad with all smart phones is battery life. I keep my old motorola razr for motorcycle trips ,camping and the like because I only need to charge it every 5 days or so and can make calls almost anywhere.

Depends on where I'm going to be. If I'm just floating around our little town then no. But if I'm going up country then yes the critters are out.

I go out almost every morning for a walk. Often my ramblings take me to places that are unpopulated, along rivers, in relative wilderness. I'm looking for photo ops, for insects, birds....... whatever. And because of the way our society has morphed over the last few decades, I take my Canon 7d, extra batteries for flash and camera, an extra memory card, a monopod, and......... a .380 automatic.

Do any of you go 'packing' when you leave home in the morning?

If you're at Beale to start with then if you go to Reno take hwy 20 thru Grass valley & Nevada city. Hwy. 20 goes thru Tahoe Natl. Forest. Very pretty drive, with views of hydraulic mining areas. As you turn onto I80 Donner Lake is right along side hwy. Also just a small jog over to Lake Tahoe from Truckee as Lake Tahoe straddles Calif. Nev. border you can gamble there if so inclined take hwy. 50 back to Placerville.catch 49 to Beale. Also from there 20 also goes to the coast at Fort Bragg Redwood forest to travel thru. Go down coast on 1 you'll find amazing. Scenic views all down the coast hwy

Even tho I was born and raised in San Diego, I'm gona defer to the "locals" for their comments. However, I suggest a trip to Sutter's Mill and other historical sites.
A drive down Hwy 79 (the Mother Load Hwy), would be nice. (You could head west to I-5 and home almost anytime.) Yosemite NP, shouldn't be too crowded. Will you use a digital or film camera this time? How long has your daughter lived in the area? She should know some good spots.

I have digital cameras (3 actually). My daughter and her family have lived in the area about 1-1/2 years, he is stationed at Beale AFB. She's the one that said we should go to Reno, etc.

This is My buddy Adam, He's an orphan that I have been mentoring online for almost 2 years. He can not speak and has Epilepsy. Adam is a super intelligent child. He is 12. What I'd like to ask you guys is to add him to your prayers today. This morning was his first of 10, 4 hour Gama Knife radiation treatments for a brain tumor. He is a great little guy and has brought many things in to my life. I didn't take the picture, but it's ok

Welcome to Day 106 :) It's Straight From the Camera Sunday ... which means no post processing today. So I used this time to learn how to use my extension tubes. I took the tubes to the park and photographed every small thing I could find until I figured it out. Here are the results.

Had a lovely outing today with decent weather, motorcycle ride and lunch.

these are not my best pics that is for sure but the first one is for CHRIS...When I first looked up I was scared because the two planes where so close together...then i realized we were watching a glider get towed...

second shot was even wierder...it was a front lawn filled with pin wheels...I told hub to pull right in the drive and i hopped off the bike and snapped a few and then scadaddled. Wish I could have played around a little more here and figured out how to get a good one.

Wow, awesome pictures everyone - :D

Well, today I am stoked! My hubby just took me up the river about an hour 1/2 away from where we live, looking for Eagles. We know they're in our area but haven't found any yet. (just got lucky with the one we saw on my Bday) - it was just meant to be, that's all) lol.

Anyways, I just happened to see something sitting in a tree & it appeared it was eating, Hubby turned around & I got a couple pics before he decided to fly away. (these are the best bird pics I think I've taken....not sure?)

ok - so we saw some Hawks & then far from home, lol - he spots a nest, so we turned around & sure enuff - it was an Eagles nest. One was sitting above the nest just looking at everything. I didn't get great pics 'cause it was far away BUT...... Hubby had his spotting scope & we saw 2 babies!!!!! (nope, didn't get a picture of them but I saw them with my own eyes!) I am still stoked - what a great day!!!!:D
