I go out almost every morning for a walk. Often my ramblings take me to places that are unpopulated, along rivers, in relative wilderness. I'm looking for photo ops, for insects, birds....... whatever. And because of the way our society has morphed over the last few decades, I take my Canon 7d, extra batteries for flash and camera, an extra memory card, a monopod, and......... a .380 automatic.
Do any of you go 'packing' when you leave home in the morning?
Hardly. But then, I live in rural France. Still a civilized society.
Cheers,
R.
No. I would put it in my belt and shoot my ... self.

I live in a civilized society too. However, there are some *$$holes in it, and so I usually am packing my buddies Smith and Wesson just to make sure the *$$holes stay civilized.
Fear is one of the great causes of violence.
Also (Gym), rural France is not like the banlieus (suburbs of big cities).
I mean... Who's the one who's so frightened he carries a gun? Not I. Nor did I carry one in rural California.
Cheers,
R.
I tote my .44 Mag because my morning stroll takes me to the banlieus (suburbs of big cities).
Better to be safe than laying there bleeding wishing you had a sidearm!

I don't even own a gun and have no desire to do so, so my answer would be no.

You're saying that because I carry a weapon I'm frightened??? Then you and your wife will have no qualms about walking alone, unarmed, through New York's Central Park around midnight. Being Frightened has nothing to do with it. Being PREPARED is everything. Therefore, this thread will be primarily for Americans, who still have the right to bear arms as a means of protecting themselves.
Fear as nothing to do with packing. I find it is usually the fearful who don't more often than vice versa.
It's called common sense. Trust but be prepared. I don't pack too often but when circumstances call for it I don't hesitate.
A shame when it has to come to that.We cant attack those who break into our homes.

Au Contraire! An old police officer friend of mine once gave me the quote of a lifetime:
"It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6."

The right to self defense is still alive and well in most of Nevada.
