I would recommend. Photoshop Elements. Easier and has all the features you could ever want or need. Just my opinion. I have PSE8 and was able to load all the features now included in PSE10. Good luck. p.s. The is always "gimp" it's free

Wide range of uses other than silliness. Like to know how you look in different clothes, hair, makeup, car color, etc. Put in scenes around the world. Good photoshopping is fun and creative. Bad stuff is just that.

Not doing studio work. Use D200 as work horse and also have D1X I coverted to infraray D2X heavier camera . Not exactley carry all. Cleaning house of exttras.

I use and recommend Photoshop Elements (I have 8 but I belive it's up to 10 now.) It has all the necessary features of PS and many short cut triks on line to meet most CS tasks. Price aprx $100

Joined one here(Birmingham, Michigan) and it turned out a little boring. I guess it all depends on the members and their contributions of knowledge and experiences. This one showed their photos over and over and judged from rotating panels. It seemed a waste of time. They could have exhibited them and spent time in meetings for information updates. Just my opinion.
