Card Reader routine is the best way---- BTW The transfer cable works both ways and MAY allow your computer to share a virus with your camera----
Once you set up a card reader routine you will be good!

Call B&H and ask for a computer tech--who is also a photographer ( no necessarily a professional ) Tell them your situation, your thoughts, etc. and listen to their advice--- then ask the rest of your questions. The video card and some other small details are an issue and they will know what you should include installed inside your computer.
You then may wish to call Apple with the same questions--- and --make your decision------ you can return to B&H and purchase, etc.......
Brilliant use of the clear sky-- Your images would make very fine identifying images as well as beautiful note cards-- A fabulous technique!
