OK - I have attached three b&w images, created by me, but none with a physical colour filter or a post processing use of colour filter. Indulge me please, what filter, if any, would you recommend to make a significant improvement to any one of these images?
I presently use Luminar AI as pp software. I m about to acquire Luminar Neo. I do not want the learning curve required by Lightroom. Would Nik also be a good addition?
I thank you in advance, truly.

I want to add more 'pop' to my blsack & white photographs. The processing program that I use has the sliders for the various colours but once employed they do not impact the images greatly or should I say sufficiently. Would I be better served by purchasing a set of colour filters?
Thank you in advanc e for your consideration of this topic and any responses that you can offer.

Am I alone in my distaste of the new format? I have ceased my daily read of the topics because I can’t quickly discern what is recent and what is not.

How do I drill down to / access the particular day’s (new) topics?

Do either the Z8 or Z9 have a better AF system than the Z6? I have not gone Z8 because I could not appreciate the added or enhanced features to justify the significant additional cost. In fact, a salesperson - evidently not on a commission structure - said to me that the Z6 is a pretty good camera and the later cameras Z6ii, Z7ii, Z8 and Z9 were good but not noticeably superior to my Z6.

I don’t understand your commentary. You say that the button controls are the worst. Why? With respect to the Zf, are these button controls included in your classification of ‘worst’?

I am also thinking to replace my Z6 with the Zf. I have been reading ‘stuff’ on the internet. The Zf appears to be a modest improvement over the Z6. Possibly it is due to technological improvements over the past 5 years. I believe that the Zf uses a different recording card than the Z6, which are expensive yet very reliable. I woulf have to factor this issue into the cost of the new camera. I also don’t know if the batteries are compatible. If not, an increase in cost to acquire a second battery. Lastly, the trade in value for my Z6. My back up camera is my D500.

I have been a Nikon camera owner for 50+ years. My first camera was the Ftn, as traditional a SLR as they come. The Zf looks attractive to me because I like disls on the camera. While I can navigate the menu on my Z6, I really prefer the dials. Being somewhat (very) technologically challenged, I have never used the pre-set buttons. In any event shooting situations are rarely consistent. I’m goung to take a close look at this new camera.

Just head and shoulders shots of nice looking gals. I'd like to figure out what face shapes and features I like. Thanks

I've really enjoyed the posts following the question. Ridiculous request but very humorous replies. My response - go to your browser, I chose Google, and entered 'photographic images of older women'. Hundreds of images!

Rent a faster 24mm? I just re-found my 24mm 1.4. My new favorite lens.

You are each entitled to your wrong opinion. I stand by my recommendation of the two most useful lenses on such a trip: 24-70 and 10-20. It would certainly help if they were constant apertures lenses for better low light performance.
By the way 10 (15 on crop sensor) is much wider than 18 (27 on crop sensor). There is a much different image production between 10 and 18. Do the math!

No "suburbs" or countryside?

Except perhaps for Rome, cities in Italy don't have suburbs. The countryside - we have beautiful countrysides around Toronto. They are rolling hills, rivers, trees - all the things that you will see in the countryside in most parts of Italy. In my view, photography in Italy is about art, architecture, narrow streets, food and people.

However, each to his own choice. I was simply giving my opinion but it is hard to be objective when you don't know what the person asking the question is interested in.

I had planned a trip, which was unfortunately cancelled; to Berlin, Prague & Vienna. The lenses that I had hoped to take were the following: 14-30, 28-75, 70-180 and my 10mm fisheye (a very small lens).

I will be visiting Italy (Rome, Siena, Florence, and Cinque Terre) October 3 - 18, 2023. I have a Nikon D7500 and the following Nikkor lenses: 18-300 1:3.5-6.3; 18-70 1:3.5-4.5; 70-300 1:4-5.6; 10-20 1:4.5-5.6; and 35mm 1:1.8.
I have room for only two lenses; one on the body and one extra. What combination would you recommend?

I would take the 18-70 and the 10-20. I have been to Italy, fortunately, a number of times. I have rarely needed 300mm's to capture the subjects of interest in the cities. Streets are narrow, typically the buildings are not cavernous and you want to be closer to the action; with yoiur feet and not with a monster lens.

I received a email saying my Nikon Z9 had a update for 4.01. I knew I just did 4.0. It also had a download file button. I thought this was odd. I looked on website and did not see and update for 4.01....

...and that is the reason you would head a post with 'Beware Nikon'. Whatever has occurred does not warrant such a headline. If this was an 'honest' error, where is your understanding, compassion, patience, etc.

I guess that no one has ever sent out a post 'Beware Keywest 305' upon a mistake made by you.

Beware Keywest 305, the time is coming!

I was fully expecting to read that the camera was dropped. I’m glad that such was not the outcome!
