Looked at those already. Won’t fit RRS BH with lever clamp.

They are no longer in production and have not been able to find one yet used. If you have one to part with, let me know. Thanks.

Also, search the App Store for Nikon Manual Viewer 2 app. The app allows you to download any or all of the Nikon camera manuals. It has an easy to use manual search function that allows you to find what you are looking for in your manual quickly and easily. There are IOS and Android versions, can be loaded on your phone and/or tablet. It’s a great alternative to downloading a pdf to your device!!!

What is a good wide angle small zoom for a full frame Nikon ? Looking to shoot landscapes. Using on a Nikon D800. Also has anyone heard any reviews on the new Tamron 35 to 150.
Also after a new lens comes out do they go on sale or is their a rebate on them or does it take about a year for this to happen

A friend who is a Tamron ambassador put together this YouTube video. It is just a basic intro to the lens’ features and a link for some images he shot with it while testing the lens. I have not seen a review of the lens but hope David will give a review now that he has returned from his Teton trip. Hope this helps:

Yes and yes. And does both quite well. Very satisfied with Affinity Photo. One time purchase cost, all upgrades available at no cost, great tutorial library for help.

I’ve only had my F2 for a year and I’ve never taken it overseas and I’ve never loaded it with that much gear, but I don’t love it any less. Just sayin’ 😜

Been a user for 2+ years. Switched from Elements. Great program, easy to learn, lots of power, great tutorials, inexpensive and all future upgrades are free. Got it for $29.95 (3 months worth of PSCC) and have talked numerous others to get the program. Buy it, you’ll like it!

I mostly shoot w/ the 24-120 and rarely need more reach. If I want wider range , astrophotography or good sunstars, I use the 20mm f1.8. Mostly, I shoot landscape and astro. Check your photos to determine at what range you spend most of your time and decide based upon your habits.

I have absolutely no regrets about purchasing RRS gear including L brackets. I budget for them save my mad money etc. it is certainly ok to find less expensive gear, spread the word for others to see and even defend the purchase. RRS is made in the USA and I choose to support them. No pun intended. Rich

I second all of these reasons with one additional item: I have several plates by different manufacturers. Some fit well into my RRS ballhead quick-release clamp and some do not. I pay for RRS plates and brackets for the assurance of a good, reliable, secure fit. I sleep better that way.

And why did they skip to Z? Lots of other letters out there. And what happens after Z27, because Z28 is already taken?

Well, I suppose without knowing about the photographer, ANY suggestion is a bit presumptuous. But hey, what can one do? People make a simple comment like “I need a good tripod”, nothing wrong with offering a suggestion as to one that is considered good.

Well, I presumed that if the OP didn’t like my opinion then he could easily ignore it and I would not be offended because, presumably, I’d never know it was ignored. Now that I think about it, I’m a presumptuous cad! Would self-flagellation be an adequate penance?

The RRS Versa Series 3 is a great tripod, but I think the Series 2 is more practical.

Unless you're using a 8x10 view camera or something else.

I too think the 2 Series is more practical, unless you predominantly use long lenses. Bought the TVC-24L MK 2 a couple months ago. Have used it a lot since than and could not be happier. Great tripod, light, sturdy, vibration dissipates quickly and the extra length pays dividends on slopes and for Astro photography. Expensive, but well worth it!
