As impressive as a super moon is, a super Jupiter is even more impressive.

That would be an Oops! with a capital O. There have been so many successful Mars landings that people forget how incredibly difficult to achieve a soft landing on it. I think I once read that about 50% of the attempted landings on Mars have failed. Maybe that number has gone down a bit over that last few years as we have gotten better at it, but it is still not an easy thing to do.

Funny. Was this taken with a Canon? :)

Picasa is fairly intuitive to use. Once you download it, you can drag a photo or photos over to the icon on your desktop and it will open the photo. Then just play around with it. There are various icons you can use, such as straightening a photo, change density, alter lighting, special effects, etc. You will have fun with it.

Just for fun. We all know what GAS is…that insidious craving for gear! It may take the rest of my life to acquire all the items on my GAS list; The top five items on my current dream list include (in rough order or precedence):

1. Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS Mark II
2. ThinkTank Streetwalker Hard Drive (Camera Back Pack)
3. Sigma 50mm ART
4. Canon 100mm Macro Lens
5. Canon 600EX-RT Speedlite

This is only the top five items on my otherwise very long list. What are your top five current GAS list items?

Lucky for me I have never heard of a GAS list, and my resistance to impulse buy it well developed.

Thanks for sharing. Not something I had ever pondered, but now I know something that I didn't know before. And so, as you say, now I know.

Makes this morning's temperature of -20 seem almost balmy by comparison. Although anything beyond -20 doesn't feel that much worse. Dressing for -30 or -40 is not all that different from dressing for -20.

Swamp Gator hit the nail on the head about the display grid. Also the photography program you have on your computer should have a straightening tool.

Welcome to the site. Hope you enjoy the banter. I see you are off to a good start. You are reading the owner's manual.

Do to the ACA, BC/BS tripled my monthly premium and offered a worse plan than I had before. Apparently my old plan that was cheaper and had better coverage was sub standard. Their new plan was ACA compliant. I could not afford their new plan, so now I don't have health insurance. Nice to know that the big boys are going to get their bail out though. The corruption in this government has no boundaries.

That is good news. I would be afraid that Obama would just let him take it.
