A wise man once told me "Never pay to enter a photo contest"...and I never have. There are lots of free ones out there, many dealing with a wide variety of special interests. The exception would be if you truly wanted to support some cause. I have entered several over the years just to challenge myself. some can be a disappointment, but the ribbons and the publishing is fun if it happens. Good luck!
great, i too will never pay to entere a photo unless it's for a good reason and not because some just want to ad to there collections

Great photos Thanks, Photography to me is a way of life and when we do it were also capturing history and able to preserve so many memories. I especially love doing candids
I hate pavarate and could never be a part of the sneaky way people try to make money from people that do not like those kind of people. I am 80 years old and photography is a way of lifr to me

I have done photography for many years, But not seariously mostly as a hobby, I did dwell into it for a while inthe 60s and 70 doing yearbook photography , I also have done a few weddings ect. I am actually doing it as a hobby and not looking to be involved in it as a livelyhood, I am 80 years old and know i may be limited in my years left but I would like to know i did something profitable in my life. I have some sweet memories in photograph

I use Microsoft Live Picture Gallery, included with Windows. Right click on your file, select open with, Select Live Picture Gallery, click on the top bar, "Fix" and the editing stuff appears on right of the screen.Click on "Crop" and way you go. Its a free but great minimal editing program that also has a one click color to black and white function and it really works well. You can the alter the density and contrast with the change exposure feature. Magnificent and FREE
Good luck,
