Thank you all. This answered questions I was about to address. I thought the NIK Suite was much more costly.

Thank goodness for this forum. I have a D7000 with the Nikkor 18-200 lens with an inexpensive UV filter and have had the same issues. One of my problems is that this is my first ever VR lens and I have never been sure whether to use it on a tripod. I will take all of the suggestions previously expressed by you guys. Thanks.

I can't believe this discussion. How deep in the mountains must MtMn actually live. I would not accuse him of being a bigot, just a bit uninformed.

Great, great tip. I plan to try this procedure and give a demo to my club members, many of whom don't have Photoshop or Photomatix. best question and answer on this forum this year.

Great shot. Congratulations. I can imagine how good that must make you feel. I was just as excited to get one of my shots in a local community newspaper.

I, too, use Nikon's 18-200 mm 3.5 - 6.3 as my walk around on my D7000. I do find, however, that unless on a tripod I need to use a slightly higher ISO, i.e. 200-320 when zooming out totally. I ca.n't afford a f 2.8.

I receive images for various contests we have in our club. My policy is simple, upon receiving images I send a confirmation notice right back. Our members know that if they don't receive a confirmation note right away to give me a call.

I have a Nikon D7000 and my wife has a Nikon D 80. I only began noticing the "r11" on the D7000 and "r10" on the D80 a couple of week s ago. I scoured the user manuals for te answer to no avail. A friend and I just figured out that it was the buffering. What concerns me is that I have been usig the D7000 for 16 months and just saw those numbers in the display. Where were they hiding?

Excellent Mommy. I, too just got a new Macro (Tamron 2.8 90mm) and have no idea what I am doing. Maybe I can get something like yours. Well done.

I don't see what this has to do with photography but I am very glad you posted it. Tamron was here in Chicago for a number of years and I just gained much more respect for her talents. In oher words, I disagree that she made a fool of herself.
